What are your hours/week looking like so far? What will your peak be?

For me, Im pretty consistant at 17hrs per week. Plan on hitting ~20hrs during my peak week.

My bike seems to be the weakest so far. Need to get some more miles in on the road.

And does anyone know if the timing clock changes during the race to represent the age groupers?? I assume when the pros finish the time on the clock is accurate based on their start time but what about when the age groupers start coming in?

They will change the clock from the pro start time to the G start time before the AG'ers start coming in.

That's great about the clock!  At Oceanside the past two years, it's just set on pro start for the whole race, so the time in finishing pictures looks anywhere from 10 minutes to an hour slower than your actual time.

Ran the National Marathon last weekend (3/20) in 3:17:20.  Died the last few miles (7:08 pace through 22) which is probably a result of being sick the week leading up to it.  The next two weekends are half-marathons, with a few sprint and olympic tri's coming up in May!

That said...my swim times are terrible, and have me wondering if I'll make it in the 2:20:00 cutoff!  Right now I'm at 47:00 / mile in a pool (no pushing off)...my goal is to get down to 40:00....

Swimming a ton now (have been focusing on running) and starting to bike more...so we'll see.  I'm worried even if I get out of the water in 1:45:00 or so, I'll be dead from the swim.  Really need to work on efficiency!

Hope everyone's training is great!

I think they change the clock at the water after the last pro is out -- that's what they did at Placid last  year.  So if you are more than 10 min faster than any of the pros, you will see the pro clock.  And if your time seems slow, don't freak out; just revel in the fact you must have passed a pro, no matter where you come in!

I am shooting for a 1:20 or 1:30 for the swim. So you should pass me after the little out and back on the bike.

Saddly I am having a calf issue atm.  I am supposed to be building, but instead I am sidelining.  I had to walk after a half mile jog last night.  Not well pleased.  Hopefuly I can get things under control, not sure about those grand hopes for a PR though if I can't build properly from my base over the next 2 months 8(.

Here's mine- they are not all that impressive yet.  Run was more this month because I was injured in February and I am finally back at it.  Bike is lower this month because I raced a half marathon and missed 2 long rides- due to race week and then recovery.  Swimming is slightly less- I skipped a swim last week- no biggie.

Time to get serious- only 3 months left to build the machine Yell  My volume is really going to pick up this month.

March's totals:
Bike:10h 00m 23s  - 159.58 Mi
Run:10h 54m 51s  - 72.65 Mi
Swim:4h 48m 14s  - 14850 Yd
Strength:20m
Walking:7h 29m 49s

February's totals:
Bike:16h 31m 57s  - 240.9 Mi
Run:9h 37m 23s  - 64.41 Mi
Swim:5h 05m 14s  - 15150 Yd
Strength:49m
Walking:54m 12s

Run:12h 32m 40s  - 31.95 Mi
Swim:10h 23m  - 18500 Yd
Strength:55m

I'm proud of those numbers!  Can I add to that that I work full time and have two young kids, two step kids and take pretty good care of my husband (who is also training for CDA)? It means a lot of late night trainer rides and swapping "outdoor" time on the weekends for long stuff.

Nice!  Here are my totals.  It's only like 9 or 10 hours per week.  That's an eye-opener.  I think I'm supposed to get up to 20-22 hours per week during peak build.  Eh.

Swim: 6.25 hrs
Bike: 14.5 hrs - 256 mi
Run: 14.75 hrs - 120 mi

Includes 2 races: Desert Tri (International) & Oceanside 70.3.

Some of the bike time is on the CT and I usually don't enter mileage for those workouts.  Same with the swim - I mostly just track the time (at least it was more than a mile this month heh!).

Kicking off the month with one last big weekend before taper for marathon.  80 on bike Sat, run 20 Sun.

Less than 3 months left!

We are right there with you guys Shannon.....  We have a 4 and 2 year old, and we are both competing as well.  Many 4am's, and 8pm trainer rides and swims while also swapping outdoor time.  Your numbers look great! Keep it up!

Wow it took you over 24 hours to bike 16.2 miles? I am impressed you didn't fall over

Hardy har   I don't have my bike computer hooked up, so I have no idea how far I go on the trainer, I could estimate, I guess.  That's funny, though.  Doug once asked me how I can swim so slowly without sinking.  Jeez, tough crowd.

Not the month I wanted on the bike, but I will take it.  Hoping to up the bike mileage to 500 or more for April. . . It has just been hard to do with the crappy weather we have had.  Hope everyone else is doing well.

I never said that!

Here are my numbers.  I was hoping for one more trainer ride earlier this week to get my bike over 500 miles, but work travel screwed me up.  Time to start working on April numbers!

March's totals:
Bike:27h 23m  - 496 Mi

March was a good month for me.  I am almost at the end of my 100-day base camp.  My focus has been on being consistant and building base.  Very few big workouts, just a ton of little stuff.

Bike: I rode 35 times this month for a total of 33h 17m.
Run: I ran 21 times this month for a total of 13h 34m.
Swim: I swam 10 times this month for a total of 7h 44m.

It's ok, Doug spent 5 hours in the pool this month and didn't go anywhere.  (0 total yards).
