Shoeless - 2010-05-27 12:38 AM I am happy to say that I am well! I'm sorry so many of you are sick or injured. It must be the pits. It looks like I will be 100% on all of my goals this month! I am racing this weekend, and that should finish off everything but the run. This morning I nearly got pushed off the road by a school bus, AGAIN! This happened last week, too. There is no alternate route, and I can't go at another time, because I work at the school! I left a message at the bus garage, but I need to call back tomorrow. These drivers need to be educated about Montana law. Both times they could have slowed down for just 10 seconds and I would have been out of their way. Happy Thursday!

Frightening--I always hold my breath for a beat as those big side-view mirrors fly past my head.  I hope you get some results from your complaint.  Be safe.

x2!  That's so scary!  My sister's friend passed away from getting hit by/falling underneath the rear wheel of a bus while on her bike (she was only 20!)  I get sick to my stomach when large vehicles zoom pass me without slowing

My knee was bothering me last night, so I just foam rolled instead of lifting.  Then a friend called me last minute for a birthday dinner/drink thing which I ended up walking to (about 2 miles from my lifting buddy's house to the place, then about 3 miles home).  So I got a lot of cross-training in even though it doesn't count in my goals for the month.  Of course going out for pizza & beer last night meant I didn't get up this morning for my swim & yoga.  Oooops.

Up for tonight - bike trainer!  Swim and yoga make-up sessions tomorrow!

Hey folks...sorry that I've been falling behind on my goals...I've been broadsided by a bout of serious depression.

I should still make my run and bike goals for the month and can up the other two a bit as well.

rnihill - 2010-05-26 11:32 AM Boy, is it hot out there!!  I went outside at lunch time to run a few errands and almost melted just walking to the car.  Anyone else out there running in the heat today?  I'm afraid if I wait until later tongiht I'll never get to it...  and I want to make sure I get my ride in later too.  Decisions, decisions...
We've been having highs of 62 and rain in seattle.  So I guess that is a no to running in the heat.

I noticed there were some ladies on our list who seem to be at a very low percentage (one person as low as 6.9%, another at 19.6%).  I know I've been very erratic lately in visiting our team thread this month, but I don't really remember some of them participating in discussions since the beginning of the month.  I'm not sure if this means they dropped out of the challenge but never told anyone?  Can we kick people off due to abandonment?  (I'm not talking about people who participate in the team & are still trying, but became injured, got busy, etc... just the ones that have been mia completely and don't seem to be working on their goals).

You ladies can contact them and see what is going on!

if they drop let me know and we can erase them like they never existed

Sounds like a plan!  I will do that tonight.... Once I figure out how to search for people by their username Tongue out

We never did team tables huh??? - LOL

I have one in my log - I sent inspires to a couple of them TriAya and IronAnne the other day and never heard back from them.

These are better if you PM them that way they generally respond to those.

Life may be crazy but they might still be training

Just double check I don't want to cut someone out until we know for sure

It is not about the legs in the end - it is about pushing ourselves

But I look forward to seeing all the ladies legs!!

Bill - I PM'd Yanti two days ago and haven't heard anything back from her. I am not sure what to do about that.

Got another run done today.  I am well above my goal for the month and I still have one more run to do before the month is over.   I don't even feel like I pushed myself very hard this month, either, when it comes to running!  Cycling and swimming are a different story.  That's why I didn't even include them in the challenge this month.

Got in a 4 mile run today - all running YAY! but I have to say I had about a 5 min break at the 2 mile point due to a work call. First time in about a week that I felt good enough to not "drag" myself to run and feel good after.

Down to 10 miles to run, 1 strength and 1 bike to finish up. Will finish the run with tomorrow, Sat and Mon runs will finish strength tomorrow and bike on Sunday.

I got in another 33 miles towards my biking goal; I'll get the rest in a long ride this weekend. I'll finish off my swimming tomorrow. Running has finished me

I'm a little sad today due to Facebook.  I looked up a friend from the past today.  I'm not sure why her name popped into my head.  I just typed her name into the search on a whim.  I just found out that her sister passed away last night.  It gives me shivers to think that I have not thought about her or her family in a long time and the day I look her up, I find out this news.  As a result, I'm sad and wish that I had not lost touch with any of them.

sorry to hear this Mel! I so feel ya, I've been there too! although I will say being in these challenges keeps me more focused and pushes me to do "something"  compared to nothing, this also seems to help shake the blahs!

YIKES!!!!!  I have been buzzed by school buses too, it scares the bejeepers outta me!

Be careful out there, ladies!  I find that whenever I have a close call, it's almost always a pickup truck.  And last summer, some jerk in a rusted old station wagon with the fake woodgrain siding (remember those?) literally tried to run me off the road.  As I barely recovered my balance and came to a stop, he had his hand out the window and was flipping me the bird.  Nice.

I wanted to wish you all a fabulous (and safe) holiday weekend! Cool

As for me I am 2 short on all 3 goals, but I will get at least 1 swim in possibly 2...the run/walk will get done (up north is my favorite place to run!) but not looking good for the bike. I can't take it with me and not sure I will have time to ride today.  Maybe if I get of BT I can squeeze it in!Surprised

Finished my swim yesterday and am over my goal there.  One more bike should finish up that goal.  I am hoping it will be outside instead of the stationary bike but it depends on the storms.  My weekend workouts will focus on getting in my run miles as much as I can.  I will come close.  I will also try to catch up on some ST.

My long weekend starts at 1:00 this afternoon.  Yeah!!!  Smile

All I can say is that being sick took away a whole lot of water fitness.......I swam and was glad I was in the pool for the rest intervals but had to pass up OWS with the tri club for the safety issue.
