QueenZipp - 2012-02-27 11:29 AM Tom, I think you have a good idea.  There are several people who are no longer actively participating here.

I agree!

I'm around! I'm just tired, but I updated. I'll be more active after husband leaves and Xterra race is done. The training leaves me pooped.

Okey Dokey.

I updated the worksheet by moving inactive participants to the bottom of the sheet and installing a total and average for the "Active Group."  "Active" included anyone that had updated since Dec 30th.  We can roll that back farther in a while (to give people a chance to update if they want).  Nobody was deleted from the sheet.

soooo our progress as a group:

Beginning Weight: Average - 168.32

Latest Weight: Average - 164.39 (average loss of 4 lbs!)

Average Percent of Weight Loss Goal Complete - 40.83%

One month to go on this challenge...  Congrats to Bill, Judi, and Ken on 86%, 76%, and 67% of goal completion!

Friday check in for me: 139.6 lbs! Down 2 ounces, haha! Well, it would have been more, but we were at the airport from 1:00am-4am sending off deploying husband eating terrible things *cough* *donuts* *cough*. I'm so excited. This is the first time in years that I have stayed under 140 lbs for a week!! Smile

Training this week is down with the husband getting ready to and eventually leaving. I was hoping to get to the family room at the gym with the kids, but my son ended up slamming his thumb in the van door. Ended up at ER instead. Luckily no fractures, but the poor thing was in a lot of pain. Bad day for the guy. We'll try again tomorrow.

Hope you all have a great morning!

Great job on keeping the weight down, even if not as low as you wanted. I am sorry about your little guys thumb. That hurts SO MUCH! The worry and calming the tears probably was a good heart rate workout for you!

I am down 1 pound. I was down this week, then back up and ended up down. I would like the trend to just be down. Though, I KNOW that I am the root cause of the problem. It seems I would rather kick myself after than kick myself to be stronger. I need to work on that.

Up over two pounds this week.  Pretty sure it has something to do with the pancakes and beer last night.

I need to work harder on my lenten fast and workouts.  Half Marathon 4/28 and I'd like to be close to 200 then.

Well, my weight is up but body fat % is down.  It is a good thing that I track my body fat... Weigh-in this week is 202.0 (I had seen 203.5 another day) which is up 1.5 lbs since last week.  Net changes from last week; fat mass = -0.36lbs  Lean Mass = +1.86.

Net Changes Since Starting P90X on 1/14/12: Weight= -0.5lbs, BF%= -6.09%, Fat= -12.04lbs, Lean= +11.54lbs

Perhaps on the next Body Comp Challenge, we should have %BF category for people to use as an alternative or additional goal (and measure % of goal accomplished as our group metric).  Just some thought for round 3....4 or whatever the next one is.

Best of luck to everyone else this week!  And a speedy recovery to the little guy with a busted up thumb.

Go here to sign up.  We will just track weights in the spreadsheet but you still need to track your other stats and photos in your blog.

I'm still in. February was a bit of a crazy month, so I haven't checked in for awhile. My weight is up, but I plan to work hard this month to get it back down. Weigh in on Friday was 158, heaviest I've been in years.

Hope everyone is doing well. Have a great weekend!

February was rough for me also, lots of the unexpected life and work things popping up. Need to do a better job this month and actually crack that 200 barrier for the first time since 07.

Down 1.4 today at weigh in to 146.4. Total of 4.4 lbs lost in the past two weeks with WW. Hoping it continues since I leave Saturday for 2 weeks in Alaska where I will be eating out 2 meals a day... Last fall I did it when we were on WW and managed to hold steady. Hoping to lose or hold steady this time as well.  Also since the gym will be close I am going to try a few classes at the gym up there - Zumba, Guts & Glutes, TRX etc... They are free so why not... (if work allows me to get off in time to make it).

I'm abstaining from weighing in this week (well, at least officially... I've crept onto the scale and wasn't at all surprised by what I saw).

I had an AWESOME birthday week, though.  I ate and drank with abandon and have absolutely no regrets.

One thing I can say, though:  I was looking forward to getting back to eating healthy again.  My body doesn't do gluttony all that well anymore...

Happy belated birthday, Laura!!! Glad you enjoyed it to the fullest.

Great job on the dropping weight, Judi!!

As for me, I've been a good, good girl. With the Xterra race this Saturday (and having to wear a tri suit for it), I've been eating really well so I'll be as light as possible for it. Food choices have been great, and I'm finding myself looking forward to creating healthier meals!

Hope you all are taking good care of yourselves!

Ok, a quick summary from last week before everyone updates tomorrow:

We are up to 11 active (or in the case of Bill, challenge completed) participants.

Average Starting Weight = 170.11Average Weight at last weigh-in = 166.03

Average Goal Weight = 158.55

Average Weight loss = 4.08 lbs Average Weight Left to Reach Goal = 7.48 lbs

Average % of Weight Loss Goals Met = %40 (Judi is at 90%!)

Congrats to everyone making progress!  Let's get those numbers on the spreadsheet (make sure to change the date!)

Cheers. -t

So I'll admit that I have been bummed with not running/swimming/biking while doing my P90X routine.... but all signs point to the fact that cross-training is working!  Just went for my first run since Jan 10th (I felt spunky after my mid-day workout).  How's this for a comparison between two runs immediately after long layoffs:

Jan 10 run: Avg Pace 10:38/mi; Avg Speed 5.6mph; Max Speed 6.7mph; Avg. HR = 172 bpm; Max HR = 183

Today's run:Avg Pace 9:51/mi; Avg Speed 6.1 mph; Max Speed 7.2mph; Avg HR = 157 bpm; Max HR = 170

My Max HR this run was less than my average from the last run!  Whoo hoo.  I can't wait to get back to Tri-training!

Okay - I'm doing nothing to help the group averages!  Sorry!

I'm back where I started (again!)... which is a few pounds down from my birthday week, but still not where I was pre-birthday (it's hell getting old! ).

Slowly getting back into eating right... it's amazing how strong the carb/sugar/greasy food cravings after you've given in to them for a full week of being off the wagon.

Woo hoo! I'm down 2.2 lbs this weeks! Still up from before my trip to Louisiana/Texas, but I'm moving in the right direction and have completely cleaned up my diet and am getting some good training in. I'm starting the cleanse from the book "Clean" by Dr. Junger today, so expect to see a lot more fat shedding over the next few weeks.

I haven't updated the spreadsheet because I don't want to throw all your averages off with my net gain from the beginning of the challenge. Undecided
