It was raining here so I headed out to the garage to do my ride and of course as soon as I finished the sun came out.  Sigh...  If I had waited I would have ran out of time anyways.  It gets dark super fast here.  We get the sun earlier in the morning instead.

I think I might be turning the corner on my sickness.  Hoping for a solid nights sleep tonight.  I know that will help a lot.

Sorry about the formatting above....  from the iPhone, guess it doesn't work well

Until this year rode a 2008 Litespeed Saber.  This replaced a 2006 Saber that cracked (yes, titanium cracks).  Had several issues with it so this year giving Planet X Stealth a try.   For the road I bought an '08 Kuota Kharma.  Funny,I've bought every bike I've owned online

Only a roadie for me, a Trek Madone 5.2.  Pretty happy with it.  Between that and the mountain bike the corral is full.

The newest is the first tri bike for me...Cervelo P2. Looking forward to long weekend rides starting this weekend (weather permitting).

The old bike is a Rocky Mountain Solo LE road bike. Had no thoughts of getting into triathlon when I bought it, but it served its purpose and even carried me through 2 HIMs. Hanging on to it for now in case I have the desire to ride the roadie again in the future.

As I type this I am riding a 2009 Cervelo p2c. Debating selling it and going with an argon or Scott depending on fit. I bought my Cervelo new and I thought it was everything I wanted as far as fit and comfort. Been having some second thoughts lately.

I honestly do like all 3 equally, but there are times when I prefer one over the other, if that makes sense.  For example, I love to bike and for part of the year I'll bike in just about any condition, but then I become a fair weather biker.  I hit a breaking point.  I contribute that to Oregon and how much rain I had to bike in.  Swimming for me is the hardest but I have two good pools to swim at, one is just 3 doors down from me (if only that was the heated one).  Running is always the easiest to do, regardless of travel, temperature, etc etc.

I don't know how but my plan seems to know I am sick and has a rather easy day on the agenda for me.  A short 55 min run at an easy pace and some strength training.  I normally do my strength training in the morning and run at lunch but I think I might do the strength training after work instead.  I am single 5 days a week now as my partner just took a job with the National Park Service and is a biologist up north.  So I can use the strength training to help fill in the lonely evenings.  I am kind of use to it, her previous job had her gone for 3-4 weeks at a time, sometimes in places with no cell phone coverage or internet.  So being home on the weekends is a step up.  lol

On a side note, I can breath through one nose now and my throat only kinda hurts.  Progress...

Fred D - 2012-01-17 7:19 AM What is your most favorite and least favorite discipline?

This is the QOD (question of the day)

Swimming! Of course, I think that's fairly obvious...

Right now, biking is second and running is third. I still LOVE running, but I've barely touched my bike in the last few weeks and I miss it!!

T-12 days until the marathon!

Felt B12

Small Chain Ring fail!!  This is my 2010 Felt B12.  This was my olympic setup last year..pretty bare bones.  Instead of purchasing a road bike this year I am going to get a rear wheelcover and used deeper front wheel for racing.

Also a shameless plug for my Spartans!

I never did any of the 3 sports before I started training for my first in 2008.  I have come to really love cycling.  I think the ability to cover alot of terrain and the fast pace really get me.  I love riding hard and going fast!  Running would be a very close second.  After this 3 month running block I love it even more.  Swimming is last but not far behind.  Swimming has been a challenge because I started from not being able to swim 25 yards to now being a decent swimmer.   I do enjoy it though.  There is a good group of swimmers in the morning at my pool although since Keelyn was born I cannot make it and usually swim at lunch time instead solo.  Hoping to wrangle up a group to swim with me at lunch.

Good morning!

So here's my one bike - a very beautiful 2010 Felt B12 (Rymac and I have sort of twin bikes), mine is the 48cm frame with 650 wheels.  Here it is when i bought it. I got a great deal!  I have wait until I get home to get more updated ones.

Pongo

I haven't changed anything - i thought i would change the saddle but i haven't had any issues with it so i've left it.

My other and first bike is Trek 1500 WSD that i picked up in 2007. Great bike too - got me through all of my first tris and was the first bike I owned since I was 14.   All I knew was that my DBF (now hubby) approved the bike and componentry and it is such a pretty blue! hahah

Hi guys!

I grudgingly woke up and made progress on getting into the habit of morning workouts. I went out in the drizzle for a 50 minute (short by 1.5 minutes) run.  I think it was supposed to have strides in it but i took the victory at getting out there in the dark and rain.  Plan to swim tonight. In the bathtub-warm pool near me. hahaha

QOTD: I came to triathlon as a runner and that is the most comfortable for me training-wise.  Though, these few seasons of tri training bring me some enjoyment from the other two after I got over the initial fear. I still suck in the water but i do really like swimming - the feel of the water, gliding, etc.  And biking - on a powerful bike it's an awesome experience.   I can't quite say which is my favourite but i will go with running - it's simplicity makes it easy to get done. It makes me feel fit and i love getting out for the fresh air.

Fred D - 2012-01-16 7:17 PM So what bike so you folks ride? I ride a 2010 cannondale slice. My road bike is a specialized S-works Roubaix. 2010. How about you?

TT bike is a Kestrel 4000SL, right now it is in getting some new paint, first year on it, i rode a Carbon Taiwanese TT bike last year.

Road race bikes are a BMC SL01, and i just picked up a Litespeed Archon C1R which i am waiting for, it will be the new race bike for 2012.

Cross bike is a Yeti Arc-X and i have a Chinese Carbon Cross bike, both bikes are equipped with rear canti's and front disc brakes.
