Might have to go to a allergy/elimination diet to see if it's what I'm eating that's causing the problem.... but it's going to have to wait a bit b/c I'm heading to switzerland/italy on sunday for 13 days.... bring on the pasta and wine |

In my defense I only ordered 2 of the 3 glasses personally, so I wont be held responsible for #3....that's my story and I'm sticking to it! Not to mention quite a buzz going on! LOL The joy of sales lunches! It would have been criminal to waste a perfectly good glass of wine... |

Master 1480 Southwest Chicago 'burbs | Subject: RE: Body Composition Challenge Kind of a roller-coaster weekend for me:
That said, I've got a little less than a month left to the marathon, and I CANNOT WAIT for it to be done. Last really long run this weekend and last big mileage week. My body is ready to leave this running stuff behind for awhile. Or - at least - this much mileage. |

Expert 1580 Ankeny, Iowa | Subject: RE: Body Composition Challenge Up 1 lb from 2 weeks ago but I have been traveling for work these past two weeks so it is better than it could have been. My friend is to visit tomorrow so hopefully I will see a loss next week. But traveling Thursday through Tuesday again but this time will be at a home where I can cook things instead of eating out 3 meals a day. |

Master 2146 East Side of the Bay | Subject: RE: Body Composition Challenge Weight is unchanged but I am okay with that. I finished my first HIM yesterday. Slow but not last. I feel like I can get my life back now and focus on my eating and get back to strength training. I am also hoping to do more interval type stuff with my running and biking but will let my muscles recover for a few days first. I am determined to be leaner by the end of this challenge! |

For now I just need to be able to walk down stairs without groaning!! Will jump on the scale tomorrow and see what the damage is. |

Champion 14677 | Subject: RE: Body Composition Challenge Sorry for the late check in. I was out of town and out of computer range. I am down one pound. That is good considering I have gotten very little training in. I have spent the last 8 days taking my 80+ year old mom to visit other 80+ year old friends in Ohio. Not a lot of opportunity for training for sure |

Master 2005 Silverton, Oregon | Subject: RE: Body Composition Challenge Hi all! I've got some catching up to do, now that I'm back home with my laptop and internet. Kauai was amazing, but I think I'm in need of a vacation from my vacation. The marathon was fantastic... Dean Karnazes' inspirational words at the start line, " Who all's doing the half... beautiful course, you're going to have a great time out there! Who's doing the full... are you ready to DIE" Ha! Didn't die and had a blast. The Na Pali Coast trail on the other hand, I am still thankful to have survived and would NEVER do it again. The 11 miles each direction on lava rocks with 6 stream crossings and at least 5000 ft elevation gain each way... sure, doable, but the "hazardous cliff- ground may give way beneath you at any time" (these were the actual words on the sign) for a mile, with as narrow as 6 inch ledges, loose dirt slopes, and a 2000ft drop to the ocean below, umm, no thanks. Gorgeous views, but I'm still not sure why I continued along that trail at all. It was definitely an adventure, I'll give it that. Weights up a bit, but my body fat is down, so I think it's mostly due to bloating from travel and water retention. Definitely fell off the wagon nutrition wise while in Kauai, but I stayed really active, which I think helped control the damages. |

Pro 3730 NorCal | Subject: RE: Body Composition Challenge I'm still 131, but after some drinking last week and happy hour appetizers, i'm ok with it. Odd but I'm feeling a bit thinner, who knows I guess I should do measurements. On Sunday I saw a friend and mine and when he hugged me he said "wow you are a hard body!" LOL not really but like I said maybe this diet is finally making me drop bodyfat even if the scale is a being a nasty b-itch, lol! |

Regular 137 Lansing, Michigan | Subject: RE: Body Composition Challenge tluhring - 2011-09-05 10:48 AM Not a stellar couple of weeks for me. I am keeping with the running though. Just need to get back on the bike for longer runs and get my butt to the pool and gym. Diet has been lacking and I am surprised that I haven't done worse damage to my goals. I'll take that as a sign that if I jump back on the "great nutrition wagon" from the "meh nutrition wagon," that I'll start shredding fat again. With that in mind, I am going to start tracking nutrition again... grrr... At least that should keep me honest with evening beer habits. weight - 196 (started at 203.2) - Down a pound from last Monday Abdomen Fat -18 (started at 24) - Same as last week Chest Fat - 16 (started at 22) - Down 1 from last week Thigh Fat - 18 (started at 24) - Up 2 from last week Estimated % Body Fat - 15.55 (started at 20.58) - Up 0.3% from last week Pounds fat - 30.48 (started at 41.82) - Up 0.41 lbs from last week Lean mass also went down 1.4 lbs from last week (need to hit the gym again and do better with protein intake)
Not horrible, but a good reminder that a couple of weeks of "meh" eating and not getting cross training in doesn't help me progress towards my goals. I've made progress from where I was, but I am by no means done. I'll continue winning the battle, but never assume that it's won. Cheers |
