Still occasionally hanging out with Mr. Rock Climber. Had a coffee date with Australian Guy this weekend. He seemed nice, but probably not really over his ex. Arts Collective guy and I are hanging out for the second time tomorrow. My Halloween plans involve a kid-included zombie potluck brunch (which I'm hosting) and trick or treating with the kiddo on the big day. It's not exactly a "date" kind of holiday for me. |

Exciting Halloween plans? Still single - Still think match is a rip off.... taking my son trick or treating with his mother on Halloween. Funny thing happened on match.com today. I had the 6 month membership - didn't find love, so I received the "free" 6 months. During the entire time, I never received a single email from match that said someone chose me.... (in the matches where you click yes, no, or maybe).... Today I get an email that says "woohooo, somone chose you, not 1, but 2 women chose you from their daily matches - SUBSCRIBE AND SEE WHO'S INTERESTED!" Funny how the day after my subscription ends, 2 women chose me. I'm not buying it...I think match.com is using some shady tactics. |

I'm a huge fan of Match.com, I have never used it but my ex-wife found her guy there and they got married so my alimony payments stopped. Did I mention I love Match.com. As for me, still single but with more money for dates now! |

Match had its ups and downs, but overall it was well worth the investment. |

Too Funny! I just dumped my Match subscription. Going costume shopping tonight, although part of me wants to just use the referee costume that I didn't use last year! LOL, we'll see how shopping goes tonight! |

Total scam. For every success story, I'll bet there are 100 failures. |

Veteran 183![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Honolulu | Subject: RE: Triathlon Dating Thread Ver 2.0Went on a date w/ guy who looked fit in his pics, but in person I realized the pic was a few yrs old and he was about 20 lbs heavier now. He showed up sweating profusely from walking about a block to the bar. We had originally planned on meeting at a swank bar, but last minute he called and changed plans, to meet at a dive bar which served drinks in plastic cups. The 3 vodka sodas I had were super weak, and boy did I need some alcohol to get through that date. He said he used to "cycle" by riding his beach cruiser around. But after he crashed he gave it up. I asked why he crashed, and said his chain fell off (on the inside I presume) and it "locked up" and he went end over end. Hmmm. This was a beach cruiser w/ gears. He said the chain was always doing that. So I schooled him that he needed to take care of his bike and make sure it was running good. And if the chain falls off, you stop pedaling and pull over somewhere safe so you can put it back on. He then asked me if I was handy with tools. I don't get it when people have accidents because of not maintaining their bikes, or it's totally their fault, they say, "oh cycling is soooo dangerous." I really don't think I have the tolerance to date anybody who isn't athletic, but yet limiting myself to just dating triathletes is a very small pool of fish. At least have a bike and know how to wrench on it, that's my new minimum standard. Edited by HonoluluAngel 2012-11-18 2:31 PM |
