Thanks for the recommendation for CIM. It really fit my schedule well. A sub 3 hour friend of mine is running it too. Going to be a great trip. Thanks for stopping in! I don't really know you but I've heard a lot about you!Btw, saw that you registered for CDA next year. Awesome! I did the race in 2010 and 2011... Sounds like the bike course will be very different next year, which is too bad. But it's an awesome race and I'm sure I'll miss it when June rolls around! Good luck!! |

I need to get caught up since I was off line all weekend, but wanted to share my weekend news with my amazing MG. The Defiance 50k was an amazing training run (race), stairs, steep ascents and descents, mostly single track, and I started coming down with a cold the night before (feel like crap now). It gave me lots of things to work through and once again showed me just how important the mental aspect is. I brought in the sweeper on this one... DFL with a time of 8:16 ish. Ha! Don't feel bad for me though. It was an awesome personal journey. I was completely defeated on the 2nd loop, missed the cutoff, thought I was finished, then the RD told me I could go on and finish the 3rd loop. Given a 2nd chance I found a 2nd wind and finished the 3rd loop 15 minutes faster than the 2nd. More details to follow in the RR
Way to hang ni there and get it done! Certainly sounds like great mental training as well as physical. Hope you feel better soon!
Great Job Roni... Weather was perfect for that race this weekend! Great job getting it done, but dangit... Next time your in this next of woods please let us know... I know a few who like to trail run around here !!! Dangit, Steve, I mentioned it a couple times on this forum, but I'm sure you were busy recovering from Kona. Honestly though, we didn't get there until late afternoon Friday and left early Sunday, so it didn't leave much time for anything but packet pick up, resting, eating, and racing. One of these times it'll happen though. I've really been trying to meet you all for years. |

Way to go man... that is inspiration, slightly insane if you ask me. But amazing non the less. Just yesterday I swore that I would never run anything longer then a half marathon as I was running my first half marathon. HAHAHA Congrats on the half marathon! That's awesome! Ha! At some point in almost every race I think I've sworn I'll never do it again. |

Master 1539 Sin City | Subject: RE: SWBKRUN fast, furious, and closed Well...guess who finished her first CENTURY!!
*FYI - I got my new bike frame, size 44cm that will fit on 700c wheels, a few weeks back. I was on a 48cm that caused me to be a little too stretched out, and did cause issues as I went on much longer rides. I still have my old frame so I can either sell it or build it as a back up bike. I LOVE MY NEW FRAME!! It feels so much better and I'm much more faster/aggressive. She is...Roulette 2.0! The fork had the red to be repainted (Bike guy did it for free) to match my frame - as it's Sea Foam Green accents.* I know I'm terrible with this MG, but I'm gonna try to keep up and read up on the RR's and reply there. I don't think I'll be able to be on MG for the Winter. :-( I would hate to join, and not really post anything. :-) |

Master 2621 Almaden Valley, San Jose, California | Subject: RE: SWBKRUN fast, furious, and closed Congrats, DJ!! Nice job - and please think about rejoining, you're a big part of this MG! A keeper for sure - loved this pic! I'm online wrapping things up. Got a call this afternoon....middle child broke his leg in 3 spots today. Wonderful eldest dropped everthing and met him at the hospital and kept me informed.....and then took him back to her apartment for the night. I fly in first thing tomorrow morning and we meet with the surgeon. SO hard to be this far away when a baby (even if he's 6-1!) is hurting. Ends water polo for the season, too. |

Aw Linda, I pray for your son to heal quick. And for you to be there with him, take care. That is sad news and sorry you are going through it, your oldest is wonderful. |

We all have dry spells. Linda - Way to go Zack and so sorry about your other son! I hope the recovery goes smoothly and quickly. Steve - yet again your pics are amazing. I think you are missing your true talent. Awesome job Jayne on the 1/2 M walk. That is amazing. I can't walk fast to save my life. I'll have shin splints for weeks. I hope I didn't forget anyone. I hope everyone is having a nice fall. Finally we are having great weather here. I hope it lasts.

Like Sam said, that is crazy hard, IMO!! And Spanky, way to spank your first half-mary! Linda, you need a son with broken bones like you need a hole in the head, but I'm so glad Bethany was there for him and now that you can go and be a mommy. They always will be our babies!!! As you know, Steve, I'm totally enjoying the pics!! So very cool! Happy Tuesday trails, peeps!! |
