Tracy, very impressive swim..

has anyone watched the inauguration?  what a great speaker..   in my opinion i think one of his greatest attributes is ability to motivate people.

It seems my 18 month old son likes to give me his colds/flu, this is the third time we've been sick in 2 months..  Yet my wife hasn't been sick once!

Holey Moley! 600 posts on our group...woo hoo!
Karen, welcome back and keep posting. Nice swim, Tracy! I gave myself a morning off from the gym so I could walk the dog, watch the inauguration...and get to work on time.

I think I'll set up the trainer tonite for a spinervals dvd. There. Now that I've typed it, I really have to do it

No blackberry here, I think that it's a miracle when I can find my cell phone!

swbkrun - 2009-01-20 12:11 PM I am using the Pearl, and trying to get my work email setup on the phone is becoming a real pain!  I have already been on the phone w/ the help desk (corporate) 2x!!! Ugh.... Oh well, like I have anything better to do right now than surf the net, and sit on hold for the help desk?!

I've noticed 2 things when trying to setup the BB (or when the tech group setup my BB).  If the company has a BB enterprise server the setup should be extremely easy and if they don't it's more complicated.  One thing you might want to check-out is what servce you're paying for..  For example T-mobile has 2 difference services for bb, one for $20 and the other for $30 (i think).  If your company has the enterprise server you need to pay for the $30 service.  If the company doesn't have the server, you can get away with paying $20.  good luck.

Hola fellow mentees and fearless mentor.  I've been out of the loop for Awhile.  Work is completely out of control.  We cannot purchase packages as quickly as folks are wanting to buy them.  It's a wonderful problem to have, finally...4th quarter was aweful!

We've had the inauguration on in the office today.  WAY more interesting than I thought it would be.

I have a funny to share from my run yesterday.  Not many people out on the trail, too cold for Arkansans.  A young guy braving the elements and walking his dog asked me if I had the time.  I was wearing my NEW 405, so it was obvious to him that I had a "watch" on.  I had to tell him no!  I didn't know how to get from workout mode to time mode and back to workout mode or if it would even do that without stopping the workout.  I felt like such a B.  I can just hear him telling folks, "I asked this lady for the time yesterday, and..."

LOL, I completely understand. Took me awhile to figure out how best to get to time on my 305, for that you just hit mode and the time is in the bottom right hand corner.

??? I don't think I could pull off telling someone the time on the 305 if they asked me... All it would be is an "educated guess!!!"

Hi All

I am about to go underground for the next two days....work travel and tons of meetings.  As a consultant, I am not used to sitting all day long so these sessions are treacherous!

After using the 305 for 2-3 years, I finally have all of the screens set up the way I want them, but it did take a while to figure it out.  Funny, I don't have time as one of my fields!  I guess when I am in the moment, I really don't care what time it is.

Train well while I am away!

Hello All.  I hope everyones week is off to a fantastic start.  I haven't been able to get on the message board for the past couple of weeks and wow did I have lots of catching up to do!!  It looks like everyone's training is going well so far.  Monday I will be officially 12 weeks out from my first race of the year.  I will be doing my first oly distance.....can't wait!

So, I was curious what kind of program everhyone is using to get ready for your race(s) this season.....i.e. are you using one of the BT plans?; did you get one from somewhere else?; do you have a coach that tells you what to do each week?; or are you just winging it?  I am using one of the training plans from the Triathlete Magazine Training Guide.  I basically swim, bike & run each 3 days a week.  I am also adding in my yoga and some strength training.

Welcome back.  When you are gone for even a day you sure do have a lot to catch up on.  We are an active group!

When it comes to training for my April marathon, I have a running coach.  For my first Olympic in June, I am totally winging it and just assuming my training over the winter will take me through it.  Other than worrying about the swim, my transitions are usually my worst legs of the event!  This is my first year moving up to anything more than a sprint so the other thing I need to work on is nutrition.

I am thinking of following a plan or getting a coach for a few months leading up to my first 1/2IM.

I use a RunnersWorld plan for my marathon/1/2 marathon training and use a BT plan for Triathlons.  One of the nice things about being a performance member here is you can import those plans into your calendar, easiest way for me to remember what I have to do today.  I just modify the runs that the BT plan uses with my runnersworld plan.

Same here.  I have a BT plan for my first triathlon and I just adjusted the run segments so it would mesh with my RW half marathon training plan.

I've seen some of you use trainingpeaks.com.....I have a garmin 305, and when I downloaded the software with it...it was kind of blah. So i've signed up on trainingpeaks, but am kind of confused.

So plug the watch into the computer and then the it downloads into TP software instead? I guess we enter our workouts in BT, and then look at thw TP website for our Garmin info?

If you don't have an enterprise server you can also configure it to sync w/ your webmail server.  Not as clean, but gets the job done.

Try using Motionbased.com, or Sporttracks (zonefivesoftware.com), plus on the BT website it shoots your workouts right in for you... There should be a spot fo IMPORT GARMIN... I hope this makes sense?!  I never use the Garmin Software!

Thanks Steve...I've noticed on the BT site before, but for whatever reason(I'm a blonde?) I didn't think the info would upload easily or some other hair brained reason. I'll give it a shot tonight.

Yeah I upload everything from my Garmin to BT.  If you aren't using a powermeter to train with, not sure what advantage Training Peaks has over BT.  Marma and Ron said they are working on getting powermeter stats into BT soon.

Hey all, just checking in.  NO baby yet, momma is getting anxious and uncomfortable.  Our actual due date is tomorrow, but I was certain that we'd have a baby by now.

I also use my FR305 regularly to update my BT log.  I think it's pretty easy!  And I do have 1 screen that shows time.  I think I only really use one screen for runs and one for biking.

Run: Current Pace, Last Lap (on the mile mark) and overall time

Bike: Speed, Cadence, Overall Time and  ... hm, I'm drawing a blank.

I rarely upload my Garmin to BT because it makes my Route Manager a cluster, any suggestions on how to manage that?
