Well I think I am getting over my bout of FOMO, at least temporarily.

Coach Michi and some of the others are signing up for IMAZ 70.3 and told me I should do it with them. Well between Erin's description of the bike and my wanting my Saturday mornings back I'm not super interested (slightly but not super). Which is progress for me. Normally I'd be going nuts wanting to do the inagural with them. I guess I can be taught.

I am still considering doing Pikes Peak "with" Salty, though. Because the challenge of that one intrigues me.

Soooo, why only considering?

Ummmmm, fear of having my azz handed to me by the great Pikes Peak? There's a reason that America the Beautiful was written up there. It's friggin HIGH!!!!!!!

Well you just have to accept it. You WILL have your azz handed to you. As will I.

Then we will sing America the beautiful at the top, because we will be so high

This month is a little bit better but is shaping up to be fairly busy as well. Upside, almost no work outs in a month but it was 6 degrees C outside and snow was melting yesterday. I haven't run outside in months and haven't even been on a treadmill in 5 weeks. My friend pushed me to get out and run 4 km with her yesterday. It was sloppy wet, slippery snow covered sidewalks, but it was sunny and beautiful outside. I was wearing a tshirt on my run. And today my quads feel like I ran a half marathon, the unstable surface is the contributing factor right? It isn't just that I am out of shape and the 9 lbs I lost in Jan I put back in Feb. Just side with me on this please. Blame it on the snow. IT JUST FELT AWESOME TO GET OUTSIDE.

Yay!  Hope your quads chill out quickly.

Seems to me he's had enough of chilling.

YAY!!  Here's a list of breweries in the area.  Anything in CO Springs or Manitou Springs is possible.  The others would involve a little more driving and would cut down on the # of places to visit.  There are a plethora of other websites and resources for locating breweries in the area.  Just google "Colorado Springs breweries" and you'll get about 3.5 million hits.    Any other Manatees want to join us? I have room for 2 more in the car.....

Speaking of cars...

After my long run this last saturday gettin in and out of DH's truck was... challenging. And I had to do it repeatedly. So I joked with him that we needed to make sure we took my car for my marathon.

So at church on Sunday we asked Pastor if he'd pinned down a date for our Moab trip this year. Yup. The week before my marathon. Which means we'll be driving straight to Denver from Moab and will be driving... DH's truck

I told him he'd better get some steps.

Very cool.  I have a wedding NYC the weekend after, so I am no longer sort of, maybe considering this race.    Hopefully, I'll get to it eventually!

I'd say a wedding in NYC is a perfect way to recover from running up a 14,000' mountain

HaHa, maybe, but I think work may disagree with you!  Especially since about 2 weeks later I have to go to Ohio for another wedding!

Hands, you need to get your priorities straight.  Weddings, schmeddings.  Races with Manatee Meet-ups AND good beer should really trump all.

I agree! And from Florida to New York via Colorado sounds like a great trip!

It would look more like this: Florida to NY to Colorado to Ohio to Florida to possible unemployment line!

Hands, you need to get your priorities straight.  Weddings, schmeddings.  Races with Manatee Meet-ups AND good beer should really trump all.

I know, what is wrong with me?!  My sister and cousin can get married anytime!

How could I possibly say no to that?! Registration is next week

DOOOOOO EEEEEET!!  I'm driving for the brewery tour afterwards in case you're interested in rehydrating.

Well I've got the go ahead from Super-Sherpa-DH and a qualifying HM sooooo....

Awesome!

!!!

I am going to go check out red rock canyon and garden of the gods on Sunday (assuming we don't visit ALL of those breweries after the race.) Feel free to join me!

Gonna have to say maybe.  If I can persuade DH to skip his nosework class with one dog and bring both of them hiking instead, that might work.  With just the one car, it's either-or unless I can get TJ to be my chauffeur.  Maybe you'll be tired enough for me to keep up with you while hiking.

We could probably work something out.

Find a mentor. Make a list of at least three people that you could approach for help, list your specific needs and then be courageous enough to begin asking.
