Rynamite - 2007-09-17 3:39 PM Yeah Spokes, I wanna remind you of Scout's quote in your sig that you're so fond of. Are you really gonna be one of the ones who quits?
Spokes, if you quit then I'll quit with you. We can be the two surly drunks at the end of the bar who say nothing but things like `So how 'bout that weather.' `Yip.' and `Danged if the Blonde didn't yell at me today.' and `Shut up. You were never in the Navy.'

When did YMCA get back together?

You mean the Village People? OK I'll say `Army' ...

Spokes: `When I was in Germany I took a 100-pound `Bouncing Betty' to the face.'
MR2Tony: `SHut up you were never the in the Army.'
Spokes: `No this was two years ago, on vacation, and she was really hot.'
MR2Tony: `Yip. So how 'bout this weather.'

DUH!  Sorry.  LOL!  Brain not functioning.  Yes, I meant Village People.  I admit it.  I'm a dork.

Hey good people of TAN, can you help me out?  I've fallen behind in my COJspeak.

What does the "H" stand for?  As in, HTFU?  I am taking a good guess about the other 3.

I feel like I'm doing all this stuff and I don't even know WHY I'm doing it anymore.

I don't need to do all of this work to be healthy. I could do a lot less and still be in OK shape.

I'm smart, and I'm a good guitar player, but I  don't feel like I've ACCOMPLISHED anything worthy in life so far. I'm just another overeducated, middle-aged guy who lives 3,000 miles from his children and has a situation where I and the X will never, ever get along - ever. Running/cycling isn't going to solve those problems, or make me happy. Religion has never worked for me (and I don't say that to give offense to those for whom it works... I have prayed to God and there is no God for me).

I'm not depressed - I just feel purposeless right now.

I don't suppose your life would have any more meaning knowing you're one of my heroes here ... well ... at least you could still be a purposeless hero!

Your avatar pic makes me want to poke your sides. Or pffffft on that inch of tummy showing.

Hey TAN! How's it going?

I've actually had to do work lately. It sucks. On Friday, I gave my first lecture - it was nerve wracking. Today I had to grade and meet with students. Not sure how I'm supposed to also do research when I constantly have appointments.

So did you put any students to sleep? Edit: And not in a euthanasia sort of way.

Ah...that makes more sense.  None of them fell asleep, but there are only 16 in a small classroom.  And, I randomly called on people to answer questions.

Also, putting them to sleep in a euthanasia way might solve my problem of not getting work done....

You can do that, or just tell them you don't like them and they're wasting yout time. Either one would work.

God, why do schools need students? I swear.

I got in at 8 this morning (normally 9:30) so that I could have a doctor take my blood for an experiment.  He's stuck in traffic and now I won't be able to get it until around 9:30 anyway.  Argh.

BTW, Happy Talk like a Pirate day, everyone!!
