What is the difference between a computrainer and my blackburn and TV/DVD - and is it worth the extra cost?

The computrainer hooks to  computer and can control the reisitance to match the course shown on the screen. You can buy courses or make your own. You also get a lot of metrics monitored: cadence, speed, HR, etc... check out racermate dot com.

Well that just answered my question about calf muscle size   I guess I just to reconfigure mine to be a little more slow twitchy...

Great pics Steve!

Just had a bike fit.  Thought I'd do this just to be sure I have a good fit before I go long
Lowered my aero bars 2 cm.  Love the adjustment.  Too bad it's raining right now or it'd be out riding.

His calves are the size of my quads. They're more impressive in real life. At Boise, a girl he passed on the bike told him that she liked his calves and "wanted to make out with them"... That's a direct quote.

Two things:

1. I do not see your "new" avatar. What's the deal?

2. There is a garage sale in Madison, WI 9/19 where they are selling a Computrainer (if you need one)

Hey

Did you try clearing your cache?  It really isn't all that exciting,  but I was getting kind of sick of the old one.  Truth be told, I felt like garbage when they took this shot.

I have a CT, but if you ever see a PT let me know!!

PS. Nice to have you back on the boards.  We can only see so many posts from Trevor and John .

Hello 'Kettle' . Allow me to introduce you to my friend 'black.' Cool HA

Had a horrible run at lunch today. Turned into a stretch session.
nice pics steve...f.y.i. I have your garmin pic from Tour California as a background on my work computer. I swear 2/3 of my co-workers have walked by and said "wow thats a nice picture. Are you in it?" I initally lie and tell them yes of course!

Me and another guy from ST are trying to figure out how to get the course drink, Blood Orange Powerade.  It's a limited edition drink made just for this IM.  So not only is it not out yet, Coke just informed me that they will not sell us some and its against their contracts blah blah blah for a distributor in Switzerland to sell it and ship it to the US.

On a good note the hotel we are staying at in Zurich is letting me store my bike there while we travel around.  That saves the cost to ship it back via FedEx.  Beer money!!!

I just found out my sister is "planning" to get married on April 24th....Lonestar weekend.
Not to sound ugly....but I think she somehow gets a hold of my race calendar.
After I signed up for FL last year she announced she was getting married on Nov 7th this year...yep the day I do FL.
That changed, and now today she suddenly decides & announces to get married the last weekend of April.  What the heck?????????  Well, they haven't booked the wedding or reception so I think I'll wait a while and see if it changes.... again

How often does your sister get married?

The wedgie is a really nice piece, but double sided tape mounting?  I'm not a big fan of double sided tape.

If it wasn't raining so hard in Boise I may have stopped.  Always wondered what that would have felt like !

Ryan just jumped on a plane to go bike the Ironman Utah (St. George) Course... Wonder how that is going to fair!!! HILLS HILLS HILLS!

Linda--I hate your sister!

Steve--love the pictures.....Kim is quite the stud.  You too, esp with your tongue hanging out. Ryan is doing an IM and we didn't know about it?? How could that be?

I'm getting sick of sitting around twiddling my recovering thumbs.  Have a call with Steve in a few minutes and am going to beg for some latitude.

Who asked about the CT?   Totally worth every penny.  I intend to become a 190W pedaling maniac over the winter.

One thing about the wedgie.  If you have a small bike it can cause issues with crosswind.  I actually took my hydration unit off which was similar because it was blowing me all over hell.   Of course my bike is the size of a tricycle.

Cheyenne, WY  is quite the dull city.

Getting up tomorrow for a 6 miler, should be interesting at 6,000ft.  Will see how that goes.

No race for me this weekend (Sam has her last of the year), have a 20 miler on Sunday, lol was going to run the bike course from sam's race, then run the run course x 2 to get in the 20 miles.

Ryan is NOT doing an Ironman this weekend... Just biking the course they annouced a couple months ago.  My B-I-L (Kim's Bro) is doing St. George next year, and he went to bike the course (and get some GPS DATA) so someone can build him the Computrainer Course....

I was, but in reality it would look pretty stupid putting my $400 bike on a $1600 training contraption...  I think I will make do with a normal drainer and spinvervals...

I'm not sure how to get pics up on BT from a race so I'm passing along the link instead.  These are pics from my son's race.  Now the hard part - deciding which one(s) to get.  :-)
