blujay65 - 2009-04-06 6:57 AM I got in a short run in yesterday afternoon. I never run in the heat, it was 84*, plus 80% humidity. It was tough, but after spending several hours in the car driving from Birmingham and minimal running during my week there, I felt I had to get out for a bit. It was a hard run, I felt dog a$$ tired! Today is a swim day, some practice at 11 Am and then a clinic at 5:30.

Right now I am catching up on mountains of correspondence and paperwork! It's weird how that stuff just multiplies when you are not home!?

Cheers!

Reading about the humidity is making me look forward to Iowa summers

Really, nice job on the run though!

Good morning PPG&G's.  It's a late night for me at work today, so I'll get my training in this morning.  Felt like a slacker all weekend, but Sat was work for 10 hours, then the airport to meet family.  Sunday was spent on cleaning son's old room to be ready for grandkids next weekend and loads of laundry along with the blueberry cake of which I ate a piece for breakfast this morning.  It has fruit in it, so it counts as a breakfast food.

TOPPAGE!

Of course its breakfast food, but then again I've also been known to eat pizza, steak, and/or brownies for breakfast

It's funny, being a Yankee myself, I thought I would never get used to the humidity, still working on it after 9 years, but it gets better. I am still surprised at how many hard-core runners I see coming this way to actually train in the summer; acclimatizing themselves to the harsh conditions. It's crazy but they will run through the hottest parts of the day. Me, I'm out at 6 am, in the dark, when it's coolest. Biking isn't as much as an issue, but I still don't do it at high noon!

Artemis - 2009-04-06 9:34 AM Morning team!  Haven't been around much since Friday.  Sorry about that.  Back now although I am not going back to read all the pages I missed.

Welcome back! Here's a quick summary:

  • Lotsa people ran
  • Many meaningful posts were made
  • Inspecting foam became code for drinking beer
  • Robert turned into a broken record for about a page
  • We all learned what a dragon boat was
  • Kendra offered us cake for laundry services
  • Several scientific studies commenced to determine how bottles of alcohol disappear so fast
Did I miss anything?

Ummmm...frighteningly rapid is not a quantifiable rate.  You must repeat test

Yes 'sir it is... I went to the China House and Sushi Buffet. We have tons of buffets in town, but only one really good one... I had miso soup, some pig on a stick, and lots of veggies. Mmm, it was good!

Mmmmmm.....yum.  Nice job with the veggies.  I myself show no self control when faced with a good buffet line
