Dairyland Open Water Swim & clinic 1 is this Sunday - July 31 @ 8 and # 2 is August 14th @ 8

They are on Lake Monona at Law Park (IMOO start).  You can go to Active.com to register.  I think they are $20/piece if you register on-line.  I believe you can sign-up on-site too.

I'll be there.  I think it opens at 6am though.

I just had looked it up on active.com where it says 8-12 for both clinics.

Ok, thanks.  I thought last year I timed it to be similar to the start of the IM swim to test out siting with the sun.  Maybe not.

I'm signed up for the swim on the 20th and plan to ride the full course. As we get closer we'll have to plan to meet up.

Some of you may already have this but thought I would post this link to some hotels offering 50% off through Aug 31st.

Ironman Wisconsin - The North Central Group

They were handing out coupons to volunteers at last year's Ironman.

I'll be there the 20th as well, swim and then ride the full course.  I'd definitely be up for a meet if others are interested.

I'm thinking the 20th sounds like a great swim/bike training day. Going to try and make it work.

Fred Doucette - 2011-07-29 11:22 AM anyone think the swim will be wetsuit legal by race day??

How warm is it right now?

I'm thinking I will do the MOWS without my wetsuit... just because. And yes, we're riding the whole course afterwards. It's a great training day. Afterwards I will eat everything in sight. Stay clear of me.

This is probably a bad thing to say but honestly is there any other first timers that truly feel that they are NOT ready at all and have this feeling that its a bit too late to even get ready?

I am in enough shape and athletic enough that I will take care of this thing (knock on wood that is) to finish but I am nowhere near where I should be.

I always find it a little humorous that we start the topic of wetsuit legal swims this early, I know it's July and hot as Hades in most parts of the country, we did the same thing last year about ironman Wisconsin and by race morning the water temp was 67 degrees, not even an issue, cool, shorter days are coming it doesn't take long too change the water temps! Relax enjoy the training, we can't control the weather, it will be what it will be. Peace and stay cool!

Fred, I wasn't trying to insult you and apologize if I came across that way, I was trying just to mKe a point that I believe we all, including myself worry about the stuff we have no control over! I do see your point about LP, hope for cooler weather if not we all will give it our best shot, good luck to you and all competing!

The cop made us stop and put one foot on the ground before we could start back up.  The cops were out there on both of the loops.

Also please take care out there I saw 3 accidents yesterday on the course.

I'm signed up for the MOWS on the 20th, and totally down for a full 112 mile ride afterwards.  Last time I was there I did about 1.2 miles in the lake and two laps on the loop and skipped the stick.  It would be great to do the whole thing this time.  It would also be nice to meet some other BTers and swap stories.  Here's to our last few weeks of solid training!
