Brash69...I position my spin bike as close to aero as possible and get a great workout. My Thursday runs are 8-8:30s.

Yes, I only ran 1.2 miles today. That's the bad news. The good news is that I did it with my 10yo daughter who wants to do a5k in 26 days. She wants the tee shirt and the medal.

Finished off a bad week on a good note. Got in a nice 17.3 mile treadmill run tonight. Need to focus this week and get in my workouts and rectify my eating. No more sloppiness this week. I put whats left of the kids candy way out of sight and don't ever want to see it again.

Here's to a great week peeps!  Cool

Morning DOWNers!

Finished up last week trying something new --- went to a beginners cyclocross clinic yesterday with two friends. There were about 30 people on various types of mountain, hybrid and a couple of cx bikes. We practiced that mount/dismount thing and worked on carrying and lifting the bike over obstacles and even got to run a big flight of stairs. I had one very minor spill in the grass and thoroughly enjoyed myself. I might even get the courage to sign up for a race.

Had a pretty good week last week nutrition wise and meeting the challenges. I've had a sore throat since Saturday and it seems to be turning into a cold. Hopefully it doesn't get any worse, but between that and the absolutely awful weather that rolled in yesterday, it might be a scaled back week as far as workouts.

that still  blows me away that you can do that many miles on the treadmill! Good for you for hiding the evil candy. Be strong.

Take care of you.. NO SICKNESS!! That cyclocross clinic sounds amazing. What a great way to get your toes wet, and I am glad your tumble was gentle and on grass.

Morning Downers! I second the encouraging words of ceilidh.

I didn't eat too much this weekend but  what I did wasn't really good.

This is going to be a week of clean eating.

Happy Monday :=

Morning all!

I ate decent this weekend, but didn't get my run in - no excuse other than the weather looked really uninviting each morning.

I’ve felt myself slipping a little lately.  After the whole household having the stomach flu and then going out of town for 5 days, I’m a little out of my routine.  So, my goal for this week is to get back on the routine that I’ve been on for past few months.

It's 2226.  I just got back from a shipmate's wedding.  Ate more than I should have, but not as much as I could have.

As I posted earlier, the only challenge I really had left to tackle (not counting the greens challenge) was the water challenge.  I'm 32 ounces short of my 120 ounces, and I feel like I'm gonna float away.  It felt good trying, though.  I'll see if I can make tomorrow another 96 ounce day.

And, to make all the ladies smile, my wedding attire:

(I ended up ditching the tie, though... turns out my shirt is just a smidgeon too small at the neck.)

HOT!!!!!!

Ok Abbie - I'm in on this challenge!  I just finished my first 70.3 on September 30th and my usually-125lb 5'3 frame is at 136 and holding.  Granted, my bike training added some thigh and butt bulk, but I really want to get back down to a comfortable weight before I start training again in January.

I've tailored my workouts to accomodate for some dieting and have ischemic colitis, so grains are out and sugar intake is low.

Right now, my workouts are:

SUN:  Nice long run or ride, usually 2 hours

MON:  60 minute spin class

TUES:  70 minute power weight class and core

WED:  60 mins yoga

THURS:  Run (depends on my schedule, anywhere between 5-10k and I push it)

FRI:  70 minute power weight class and core

SAT:  OFF

Welcome aboard!

Judy, Congrats on 2 min PR!

Sorry to go a bit MIA this weekend, I was house-sitting and they didn't leave me the password for the wireless internet...I hate looking at BT on my iPhone!

Horrible eating....the house had too many evil foods and I helped myself.  Uggg.  One thing that is great about living alone is that I'm in control of what food comes into the house.  Today is a new day!

Already got an hour of fitcamp in today.

Challenge today....25 forward lunges with each leg!

Abbie, You know we love you and all that.....but really 25 front lunges when I can barely go down a flight of stairs is going to be more than a bit ugly today.  I may try them.....but if you hear a whole lot of cursing from the east coast know that Kristin and I have legs that think you are unkind to us Wink

Today = total waste.  On duty and not doing a thing.

Tomorrow, I plan to do 45 minutes on an exercise bike and as long on a treadmill as I can afford during my 2 hour lunch/PT period.  Might just do 40 minutes on the bike and 20 on the treadmill for good measure.  Still, I WILL go as long as I can afford to on the treadmill.

Hi all,

Thanks for letting me join in.

Name: Joanne

Basics: married, 47, mother to 3, stepmom to 2, step-grand mom to 3, and human mom to 5 furry children

Activity: I need to start a program. Because of some family issues, I lost myself for the past 6 months. I am just restarting some activity. I am starting cross fit in December (first opening for an intro class through a groupn). Until cross fit, I am going to do swimming, biking, running.

Nutrition: primal, paleo with some dairy and occasional wine.

Goal: 142, which is 30lbs. I know that won't come off by the holidays 2012 but it will by some holiday so no stopping till I get there.

I did one round of the 100 work out that I posted a couple weeks ago.  I substituted walking backwards on the treadmill for the run since my legs need more recovery to run again.  did the lunges too, without cursing Wink
