What is this whole gluten free thing?  Any substance?

A guy I dated last year did the Blood Type diet. But he was a certified KOOK and hypochondriac. That said, I am all about diets that make you FEEL your best though, so if it made him FEEL better (placebo effect or not) I was on board.

As for the gluten free "thing" (obv I have Celiac so have to do it) - but for those who don't have to do it I know a lot of them simply FEEL better on it. Again, I like it when people FEEL their best! Some people's bellies are simply irritated by wheat and get inflamed - causing excess bloating, gas, bad pewps, headaches, etc. One of my BFFs on BT had bad tummy issues for years (painful gas type of stuff) and when she cut off wheat? Disappeared. Not allergic or Celiac, it just irritated her tummy. Whenever she splurges, she has troubles again - not hard to pinpoint what the culprit is.

I see it kind of like how beans give some people wicked gas. Eliminate what makes you feel bad!

i think that's a good attitude.  if you feel better, it can't HURT you, go for it.  i'll enjoy my snacks and beers.

I fear I have to stop eating eggs as it makes my stomach upset nearly every time.

All things in moderation
But yeah if sugar and alcohol don't negatively affect me? I'm in.

It's a new thing, started less than probably six months ago. I was all `Why does my stomach hurt?' and then I realized that it happens only when I eat eggs, which I dont do very often. Weird.

I have slight allergic reactions to seafood on occasion.  But I love it so.

(the seafood, not the reaction)

I know it's good and all to give blood but it's a commitment.  I was out of the office for 2.5 hours.  I wonder if it was easier if you would get more people.  I noticed that just about everyone in there was of retirement age too.  So if you get a transfusion, it's probably old people blood!

I went the red blood cell route instead of just giving blood.  It's a longer process.  They spin out the red blood cells then pump what's left over back into you - crazy thing, it looked like beer!  Not THAT'S a interesting transfusion idea.

Good on you!
We have a blood donation center on-site at work that makes it easy. They run contests between the different organizations every now and then. But it gives me the heebie jeebies so I've never done it. Doesn't help that last time I got my blood drawn the lady busted my veins THREE TIMES and for a solid week it looked like I had a huge claw mark bruise on my arm. Awful.

Hello, TAN.  If I do not make it back on or after Sun., I have added you to my will to receive my Garmin (if the med people can take it off), my Cervelo P2SL Pro Limited Edition (61 cm - more than likely Kido will only be able to ride it), and close to 250 or so Gu gels (fight amongst yourselves).

Peace be with you.  And such.

Good luck!!!

You are the first I have seen to ride something other than a small bike.  I didn't think Kido was tall enough for a 61cm bike.

I'll take it!  I only SORT OF want you to die now.  How about just injured enough to not ride anymore?

61 tt bike or 63 road - all good.

Have fun.

Training our bodies to work efficiently in Zone 2 will help us keep our HR and pace even throughout an Ironman. This theory would hold true for the bike and run portion of an Ironman race.
