dalessit - 2009-09-23 8:47 AM Good luck everyone, some big races this weekend?

Barry how are you doing?  Are you ready?

Feeling good about the race, but trying my best to stay healthy.  I feel the CRUD coming on.  Had  this crap in the back of my the back of my throat for a few days and a little sinus headace, so I have been eating vitamin C, taking claritin, and using zicam...trying to attack from all angles

I have had these same symptoms for a few days, so hopefully it won't get worse, but WTF...I am in no matter what.

I have a sneaky feeling the weather might be a factor.  Thunderstorms likely...or Hell, we may have to do our swimming to GET TO Augusta, as half of Georgia is under water.

Congrats to the racers last weekend and good luck to the people this weekend.

I've been trying to keep track of some of the posts on my vacation (In Emerald Isle) but doing it on an Iphone isn't that easy..  I've signed up for my last race of the season for the second week of oct (cedar beach tri).  the swim is supposed to be tough do to the large ocean waves  and current so the swim will be very challenging.  I'm going to practice some open water swims during my vacation this week if the currents calm down since there are no life guards around..  So far the vacation is great,we're traveling with 2 other families and rented a nice beach house.  Golfing this morning sucked due to all the mosquitos, I counted 39 bites on my legs alone!  Went on a great 5.5 mile beach run yesterday, running on a beach is hard it feels like my hamstrings had a great workout.

Good luck to everyone.  Also Suzy if you have a chance, check out some of the restaurants I suggested to you.  From the sounds of it, many of them are going to be close to some of things you plan to do.

haha, yeah coached practice last night.  Good thing is I am one of 2 assistants, there is one "head" coach who runs practice, all I have to do is run drills.  On the weekends I will have to coach one team as they split up into 2 teams.

Wasn't so bad, they actually listened the whole time.  LOL, my son did ask me, daddy, since I am your son can I go first?

Head coach is awesome as long as you have parents that are involved.  I've been the Tiger Sharks Coach for a little over a year now.  That's actually 3 seasons...2 t ball and one soccer.   Every season the same children sign up and request me.  Last season I actually had to stop taking requests becasue the team was getting to big.  lol!  making cuts in 3-5 year old t ball.

I was really nervous last year before the first practice.  I figured I better come up with two names and let the team decide.  So we huddled around and I asked if they wanted to be the Tiger or the Sharks.  They all went nuts and started yelling WE'RE THE TIGER SHARKS!!!   I never thought of putting the two together.

Sam--I love the avatar! Do you have matching boots?

Because Stan told me to, I did a run through Central Park today.  Don't people in NY work?  The place was packed with runners and bikers and it was 9am.  It is hotter than heck here--supposed to hit mid 80s and very humid.  TG, I brought shorts.  Tonight we are off to an early dinner and to see Jersey Boys.

Have a great weekend everyone!

PS I heard someone calling my name on the way home from the run.  Can you believe I could actually bump into someone I know in this city? CRAZY.

We've already got one around here.  Run in February (the 14th in 2009).  This one has a 3 minute head start and the girls all wear a "flag"  If a guy catches a girl he pulls the flag.  If you have a flag at the end you get a special award.

Unfortunately we all missed it this year.

Actually, for once John was really funny!

I am going to guess we walked another 5 miles this afternoon. Still hotter than he#@, still having fun.  2 hours and we will be breaking out the cocktails---for me that is wine, NOT J&C like Birdy or beer like John, Andy, Sam, Tony and the list goes on.....
