Did my 10K yesterday.  Time was what I expected (~47:40 - waiting for results to be posted for official time).  Felt good considering that I have barely run this month.  Ran with Kris (my wife) the whole time to try and pace her to a PR...did that AND she won her AG!!!  Great for her!

Starting week 2 of no kids.  The freedom has been great but the quiet house can be a drag at times.  Yesterday was the nicest day we have had in about a week and I was sitting in the back yard listening to other kids in the neighborhood play and that raised the "missing the kids" factor a bit.  We did get to do a video call with them yeterday at my parent's house so that was cool.

IMKY update:

Chris is out of the water in 1:09!!!  Go, Chris, Go!!! 

Bree Wee was doing great and then had some sort of bike mechanical and slipped back almost 25 minutes. 
Nope, make that only 4 minutes, the report was mistaken, but she did flat!  She and Rebekah Keat are about to overtake Nina Kraft.  Go Bree!!!



Way to go Chris...keep it going!

Swim times look pretty fast.

Congratulations!! That is an awesome 10K! And HUGE props to your wife! Wow!!!

Enjoy the kid-free time!! I will say, it's awesome to get them back. Mine were soooo full of love, my son especially (who, at 10, is often too cool to be affectionate with Mom). It still hasn't worn off, and I'm eating it up. It's great to feel more appreciated by them from time to time, ha ha!!

And GO CHRIS!!!! He is well on his way into the day! Thanks for the news reports, Kim!

Suzy....Sweetwater is a local Micro brewery that has some GREAT beer and I heard from a little bird that John just might like some of that.

You didn't tell them the best part.......One of John's neighbors is VERY ORGANIZED.

Well....they never wait until the last minute to do things....for example they already have their Christmas lights up on their porch.  Kinda cool to see icicles' in August.  

Welcome to Jawja my friend and just remember to not speed down Columns Dr. when you are heading for a run....otherwise you won't be able to afford any more Sweetwater Ale.

haha.  there son is in jacks class.  super people.  first day we met them he introduces himself and apologizes for the lights.  says kids would go nuts if they took them down.  hahahaha.  awesome!

My funny story of the day....after my ride/run thing, I am cooling my legs off in the lake with my training partner and another guy strolls in.  We start chatting and talking about bib numbers since it is obvious he is am IM'er.  I innocently ask "I wonder how they assign those".  His comment are all the men are first from youngest to oldest and then they assign the women the same way....I'm 2825 out of 2911.....how old am I anyway?

Re: our trail run... it was so much fun to meet everyone! Sorry I'm so quiet Matt! I usually let Birdy do all the talking on our runs and I'm just the listener. It was super nice of you to come down from the 'Ham... hopefully we can hook up again for some more runs or rides, but next time we'll come up there. It was also nice to see Tracy and Doug and meet their friend Chris/Kris (?)... great people, very personable and friendly, but it's too bad that our run had to end on bad news. I'm glad that the passport situation was resolved ok, and we had nice dinners on Thursday and Friday. And Kyla, well, she rocks, as always; she has enough energy for three or four people.
