There is a slacker in this group and i don't want to hear any excuses about hosting 25 people for Tgiving tomorrow...get the pies in the oven, grab a glass of Cab, and get that RR done!

Yoo-Hoo Peeps!  Tomorrow's the big day---who's toeing the line before the turkey?  If you have a special strategy for your 5K, 10k or 13k (Undecided), lay it on us!

If you're lazing around just waiting to get a muffin top at least reflect on those things you're most grateful for and share them!

And if you want to answer both questions, go for it!

Good luck to all the turkey trotters - it's great to see so many people racing! No racing for me, but I'll find time for a run in the morning. It's going to be a beautiful day here. There's so much to be thankful for, but at the top of my list are my family and good health. I hope everyone has a wonderful Thanksgiving!

No T-day here in Japan, but I have another HM on Sunday.   The course is supposed to be flat and fast.  The temps are going to be on the low side - 40F or so and I'm hoping the winds will be calm (probably wishful thinking).   I'm a few pounds lighter than when I did the race 4 weeks ago (back to my racing weight of 60 kg) and think that might help me knock off another minute .   I'm also going to do the race without my HRM - should be interesting.

And.....there is so much to be grateful for....I'll save that for another day.

Why no HRM?  Why not wear it and never look at it until the end so you have some good data?

Good luck!

The problem is that the HRM (305) battery life is now only about 30 minutes max.   It was good for about 1.5 hours in the HM I did a month ago.   I guess I could make use of the first 30 minutes of HR and pacing data.   I will be doing some searching later to see if there are any quick fixes.  The HRM is a little more than 2 years old and I have used it a lot.

Slacking big time.  Will get on it.  After a kinda tough time in the med tent Sunday, returned a call from my doc (that came in while I was gone) ....have a kidney infection.  Apparently have had this for a couple of weeks....Spent the afternoon in ER getting IV Vancomycin....started on Cipro.  Still a bit dehydrated, and some of my blood numbers weren't so hot....CPK, kidney, etc.  Gonna need to follow up.

Getting the turkey stock started - then going to bed.  My kids made it home despite nasty traffic from SoCal, so I'm feeling blessed.

Happy Thanksgiving to all - even my northern buddies - I'm counting my blessings, and I count you all amongst them!

Off to lead the Half marathoners. This is gonna be fun! I have never been there to see theses fast runners. I am always miles behind them. Today I can watch them the whole way.

Doug, The pens are so COOL.  I love the engraving you selected!!

No racing for me.  Hubby and I in New Jersey visiting his son and his (son's) girlfriend.  First time in the Garden State.  Was able to get a swim in last night at a local gym, and plan to run a couple times while here.

I'm counting a lot of blessings this Thanksgiving day and many of them revolve around the influence of my Mentor Groups.  You all have been a constant source of inspiration, motivation, advice, and often hilarious entertainment!  Thanks for "being there."

If you're racing, I wish you some speedy fast times!

Edited because hubby thought you might think we were visiting HIS girlfriend :-)

The winner in the Skinny Turkey Half ran 1:25:15! Due was like a metranome. 6:20-6:29 minute miles and he could yell out to the volunteers Happy Thanksgiving. Amazing! Oh and the guy who won the 5K did it in 15:15!

Happy thanksgiving PEEPS!!! Linda I hope you're ok! Grandma Jayne..... Hahahahah! You look like you're 30. Pens look awesome doug

little slow this morning but it's all good. Went out pretty hard and tried to hang on but couldn't. Highlight of the race was around mile 8 (I think) I was feeling like crap and life was kinda sucking. I came around a corner and there was Ebinezer Baptist Church. Ha! Reality check, dumba$$. You're really fortunate to be out here... Now hurry up cause we got beer to drink! Since we moved here I've been wanting to visit the church. Couldn't have happened at a better time. Next time I'd like to stop though.

rr later. Y'all are AWESOME!!!! THANK YOU!!! I hope you guys have an awesom day!!!

Happy potato-peeling, Julia! And enjoy that apple pie -- loved those pics!! Way to go, Fatty McFattington!! Glad you got the slack out of your system when you saw the church. Nice life reality check! Speaking of slacking, dear Linda, please stay in bed a long time and let your wonderful family take care of you today, ok??!! Hugs. Have a wonderful Thanksgiving everyone. I have so many blessings to count each and every day. Today I give special thanks for my amazing and supportive husband, my lively and spirited children, and my parents and mother-in-law... And as I miss my fabulous father-in-law, I give thanks that i had him in my life for 20 years.I appreciate the gifts of a roof over my head, good food, and great health. I love my dog. Ok, and my cat, too. Life is good. I am not thankful for the lack of formatting on my iPad, but I'll get over it. Hugs to all!!!!!

Happy Thanksgiving to All! John, great job pushing yourself today! Linda, I hope you get pampered, that is crazy that you raced the whole day with a kidney infection! Aiyah! I am very thankful for so much but especially my Dad's improved health. Speaking of Dad, better get vacuuming so we can start the cooking prep...although since the Niners are playing at 5:30 tonight, we could serve dried turkey, gummy mashed potatoes, and overcooked peas and they wouldn't notice! Sorry for the big long run on, hope everyone travels safely, those turkey trotters had fun and wishing everyone a perfectly awesome Thanksgiving!

Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

Great job on the race this morning, John.  But beer for Thanksgiving?!?  You should be having turkey!

David, this pic reminded me of the wild turkey eating and drinking contest they showed a clip of yesterday...that skinny Asian woman won! they had to eat the turkey whole and drink beer cup size wild turkey! Ugh.Eta: linkhttp://www.nydailynews.com/new-york/sonya-black-widow-thomas-eats-entire-turkey-top-prize-thanksgiving-eating-contest-article-1.981378?localLinksEnabled=false
