Good to get out and move today, the temps over the weekend were in the -20's with windchills hitting -40, not nice. Add to that a couple of brutal days at work, a 15 hr day that ended at 2:00 AM and the next day starting four hours later at 6:0 AM, I really didn't have any energy for training, but that is past so here I come.

I'm back from a three week case of bronchitis! 45 points on the board today, not much I know. I did 45 minutes of outdoor training and it was only -2c with no wind or precipitation. Good weather for the first day back anyway.

8C, no points, three days in a row.

I love this forum, I can complain about the weather no matter what.

Picked a good day to go for my long run this week. 63mins at 2c with 18mph wind almost doubled the points I had this week!

Sorry Nichi, had a great day training and passed you again, I have had beautiful weather ever since the cold, ie -30F, weather let up on Sunday and I am working to make up some lost training time. It has been in the lower 20's and snow flurries for the last four days, perfect for running and riding.

Anyone ever pulled a muscle in their side? Happened Monday when I was skiing. Hurts on my side right where my ribs start. Thought it would be better by now, but the weekend is coming up and can't afford to miss my Saturday ski.

Hey Charlie,
It's all good!

Today I was telling someone that I got very little points but it's beautiful out, so I am not complaining!

I haven't gotten much done this week(exercise wise, I mean).  I can't do my half on saturday and was bummed about that...plus, trying to get some stuff done around here. We are refinancing our house, so was doing some painting to spruce the place up. (hoping to get our home payed off in the next 5-7 years!

Looking forward to more points next week,
this beautiful weather won't last into February.

Nichi

I have two halfs scheduled for February so I am excited!!!! They are in MINNESOTA-definitely more points.

charlie,
I passed you again!  This reminds me of when I run marathons...I do run/ walk, so people will pass me and then when I run again, I end up passing some of them.  It makes everyone happy!

I ran on Sunday and hadn't added the points, yet.  You are very close, though.

Hi All,

If I jogged/walked uphill 17 times at about 30 seconds each, does it count?  How about if it was after sledding down the hill with my kids?  Just thought I'd ask!  I'm trying to stay out of last...I will be running through the 10" of snow or so tomorrow night to blaze a new trail around a farm so that'll get me some nice points if the uphills don't!!  I think I already scored more than last year and that was my main goal.  I had tried to look for last years point sheet but didn't find it (I did find other older sheets just not this one).  Any ideas where it might be?  Or where I could find the totals from last year?

Thanks!

Erik

I think all outdoor activities count as long as they are somewhat active, I mean, you can't count your outdoor smoke break (could you imagine).

I have a feeling my luck is going to turn in March.  You all will be seeing signs of Spring and there will be blizzards in Minnesota.  Bwahahahaha.

Last March was the first one in a loooong time that it didn't snow.   We get snow in April too.  What a great state!

There's a good reason why Prince wrote the song "Sometimes it Snows in April." He's from Minnesota after all.

Happy crappy weather weekend everyone!

Finally had a good ski yesterday, 11 miles and I felt like I could have done more.

First race of the season coming up this weekend, 21K CC ski race.

Glad I don't live in Milwaukee area. The next couple days they are calling for 13 - 17" of snow and 25 - 40 mph winds causing blizzard conditions.

We are supposed to get 10" of the white stuff by tomorrow!  The weekend of prom my sophomore year was the first weekend in May and it snowed!  But, by then this is over, just thought I would mention...you get it all in Iowa!

Much Crappy winter weather ahead.

Went for walks with my husband on Sat and Sun.  My son keeps saying he is going to run with me and then wimping out, at least he tells me when it is snowing so I can earn more points!
