Got the lunge challenge done this evening and some planks and pushups. Other than that, took it kind of easy today.

QueenZipp - 2012-11-12 1:55 PM Abbie, You know we love you and all that.....but really 25 front lunges when I can barely go down a flight of stairs is going to be more than a bit ugly today.  I may try them.....but if you hear a whole lot of cursing from the east coast know that Kristin and I have legs that think you are unkind to us Wink

How about some push-ups instead? Do them against the wall if you are afraid you may not be able to get up off the floor  Love ya too!

**** Revised, saw you did the challenge, woohoo!

Sorry to go a bit MIA this weekend, I was house-sitting and they didn't leave me the password for the wireless internet...I hate looking at BT on my iPhone!

Welcome back.  To repent, you'll have to upload something new and wonderful to the Girls of BT thread.  lol

Haha, will do!  Just gotta give myself a day or 2 to flush out all this garbage from my system!

Did the lunges tonight. Those were some muscles I hadn't used for while!

x2  -  I LOVE lunges - if I say the right words enough times it may eventually become true (oh and actually do them too).  I did get them done tonight too.

For 18 years and 10.5 months, I've been saying the same thing about my Navy career.  Still hasn't worked.
Only 413 days until I'll be retired... THEN I'm sure I'll like my Navy career!!

Nuh uh. No lunges here. I can barely walk without twinges of calf cramps. So, no cursing from me, but I'm happy to curse on Judi's behalf.

Non-physical Challenge!

OK, so holiday time sometimes means travel. And sometimes travel means you are at the mercy of someone else (in general) for eating...

Tell us your favorite travel eating tips so we'll have some tools ready!

(And if you don't want to do it as a "challenge" - just do it for me. I'm selfish & traveling for business Thursday-Saturday. I'm flying East Coast to West, will not have a car, and will be fed all of my meals by the conference I'm attending. And there's only so much space in my carry-on...so what can I do to make this better?))

I am not a great planner. I take a few of my larabars with me in my carry on and hope for good food selections. Being a vegetarian (I do eat eggs and cheese), I try to make requests of the conference folks, but I ddon't hold them to making me something special, I just load up on the veggies I can eat.

Did someone say veggies? I LIKED that challenge!

I weigh in at Weight Watchers on Tuesdays. Went in this morning and was down 3.4 lbs. But that just puts me back to where I started when I began weighing weekly again on 10/16.  Last week I was up as I figured I'd be - weighed in the morning after flying back in from a vacation to San Francisco. I'm looking to make this another good week for nutrition and workouts and hopefully I can get back to goal weight sooner rather than later.

I did a 10 mile race on Saturday and PR'd by almost 18 minutes. That's what happens when you don't race that distance for 3.5 years! Haha.

Lara Bars and Kind Bars are tasty!  Buy some raisins and almonds, mix them into a single serving snack-size zip-lock baggie.  Buy some apples to take with you or if the hotel is near a market buy some when you arrive.  Protein powder if you drink it.

I used to go to a bunch of conferences and networking events....there never seems to be an end to the amount of pastries and muffins at the breakfast....AVOID THIS TABLE!  Keep drinking water throughout the day.

I bring my protein powder with me (it helps to keep me full) also raw almonds, drink lots of water and allow yourself to have a treat. I found if I allow myself to have one thing than I don't feel I need to eat everything in site.

Also minty chewing gum. It keeps your mouth busy, it tastes sweet(ish) and it makes a lot of things not taste quite so good reducing (at least) my temptation to way over do it.

Forgive me, Downers, for I have sinned...

I ate a caramel apple blondie and drank a pumpkin chai tea. It was good. It was most definitely not on my diet. And it had nothing to do with my trip. (Sadly, I think it was a reward for making it through the last two weeks, which have been work hell. I know. Not a good reason.)

Worst part is, my legs aren't even working well enough to run off some penance. Maybe if I give them some yoga/roll tonight again, they'll work tomorrow.

(And then I hop on a plane Thursday morning and hope to heck I can live on Lara Bars and almonds.)
