Chatham Ontario | Subject: RE: TAN #203: TANese New Year - Horsing Around Originally posted by ratherbeswimming Originally posted by Techdiver ok total TAN confession time. I stepped on a scale this morning and I saw 228lbs I run about 200lbs since losing weight. Previously 270-280lbs. When I peaked at training I did hit about 190 for several months in 2012. Even dipped to 185 for a few weeks (didn't feel good here) But I can't seem to stop putting junk in my yap. With a new baby (just an excuse) and new job etc. And now my balls having me laid up, probably longer then I want. Yesterday at work actually made them worse. Today is only a tad better. I did bring decent food with me today and yesterday. I ate emotionally on the weekend. TOTAL EMOTIONAL eater here. I seriously need an intervention of sorts. Both Amie and I had surgery over the last two weeks and it is making things tough. I finally got back to working on a regular 3-4 day a week basis just a few weeks ago. Bought a bike again and need some damn inspiration to get moving. If Elaine can get a slap for doing silly things. How do I find a way to stop drinking pop and putting down icecream and cookies. PS it is like 38 degrees here today. I was just outside for 20 mins with no coat on. Feel the warmth baby. I think this winter has taken its toll on me. HTF am I going to lose 28 lbs. Download MyFitnessPal and share your food log with me? I could use another set of eyes on what I'm eating, too! Ok I signed up and logged most of today. Will have to get used to this site and learn it a bit. techdiver74 |

I feel fortunate that I have never really had to deal with such intense personalities. Needing to possibly get the law involved sounds scary. I'm hoping for the best for you. I think many of us THINK about all the petty revenge plans, but it takes a while different level of person to do it. Too bad your wife can't say the same. |

Elite 4344 | Subject: RE: TAN #203: TANese New Year - Horsing Around I ran in Piedmont Park. Best thing I saw was a fashionably dressed (slacks but still fashionable) woman on a really loud Harley. I was tortoise to everybody else's hare today. I got passed a lot and passed no one. It was an hour so that was good. Pears and daffodils are in full bloom. But we are supposed to get a freeze tomorrow night, down to the high 20's. It is rough being a tree this time of year. TW |

I told the wife I need a vacation just to do that kind of stuff. Not a vacation that rushes to and from to and airport, cabs, hotels... All that is fun, but not productive. I just want some PRODUCTIVITY on a vacation once in a while! Even if it's working on my golf swing or an extra long run... |

I love days like that - when they don't get overtaken by other people's projects for you, anyway.

Regular 1023 Madrid | Subject: RE: TAN #203: TANese New Year - Horsing Around I love taking time off and not traveling. I get stuff done, have time to see friends for leisurely lunches, and basically just enjoy having the time of day. Anyhow I get home last night and wife says I have a letter from the insurance co. I'm thinking here we go, another raise in premiums. I open it up and the letter goes on to say how a check for $890 they sent in 2008 has not yet been cashed. Sign and return the letter so they can issue a new check. 6 years later. I'm not sure whether to be mad at them for taking so long or happy to have just (almost) found $890. |

Well I would be partially ticked but I think the found money and an Insurance company admitting it are more of a miracle and I would just go with it. I had my insurance company admit they over charged me $28/mth for 3 years. All they would do is adjust my policy and change my premium. I am also trying to find out why my motorcycle insurance just went up from $700 a year to $1000 I have no accidents. No claims. etc. That is a huge jump. |

Alpharetta, Georgia | Subject: RE: TAN #203: TANese New Year - Horsing Around Originally posted by Techdiver I am also trying to find out why my motorcycle insurance just went up from $700 a year to $1000 I have no accidents. No claims. etc. That is a huge jump. My insurance rates rise every single year. No claims on house or car. When I emailed my agent about 18 months ago to ask, she pasted her generic answer "there are many reasons rates can change, including claim activity, discounts expiring, general cost increases." So I asked what was the specific reason MY rates changed and her answer was "it was a rate change affecting both your home and auto policy." Then 6 months later my auto rates increased AGAIN so I emailed her asking what was up and that my auto rate had increased 21% in the past 8 months (no claims, no tickets, nada) and if this would continue. Her response: I took a look at your policy. I understand how you feel. Unfortunately, just like milk prices are affected by drought, weather and disease there are certain factors that affect insurance premiums that are out of anyone's control. Increased occurrence of catastrophic weather has resulted in a rise in total claims paid out for damages, rise in home auto and medical costs for claims, and an increase in insurance fraud have all affected rates across the entire industry. |

Regular 1023 Madrid | Subject: RE: TAN #203: TANese New Year - Horsing Around Insurance companies are the worst. I can't understand why there is not more public anger directed at them. I remember a few years ago my driving circumstances changed. I called up to adjust the estimated mileages and coverage (raised the deductible) and came away paying MORE. They told me the car is older and would be harder to service and find parts for. Lose lose. Short and curlies. Insert frustrative phrase here _______. Oh- and I don't even want to get started on the amount of time spent waiting on hold and going through voice recognition prompts only to be told I'll have to wait for the next available agent. Approximate waiting time 25 minutes. Edited by gr33n 2014-03-12 9:00 AM |

Regular 1023 Madrid | Subject: RE: TAN #203: TANese New Year - Horsing Around And then there was the time I got a letter out of nowhere saying my home insurance (contents) was being cancelled. I'm like WTF. I call and they tell me I've made claims (2) that were over the average amount over the last 3 years and the company reassessed and decided to cancel me. I was like wait- My home was broken into and robbed, and I lost a suitcase while travelling. What am I supposed to do ? And while I have you on the line please conference in the guy from your company that called me 2 weeks ago trying to sell me more coverage for the computer stuff in the house. Grrr... |

Elite 4344 | Subject: RE: TAN #203: TANese New Year - Horsing Around The ACC Basketball Tournament of 2014 tips off in little more than an hour. According to one prediction, my team, the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets, has a 0.11% chance of winning. They are favored by a modest 57 to 43% margin in their first round game against Boston College. It goes downhill from there. Duke's odds of winning the championship are given as 40%. Let's just say the Yellow Jackets are fine young men who can shake hands with anybody, and maybe the team will have better luck next year. TW Edited by tech_geezer 2014-03-12 10:01 AM |
