Chris ... way to go on the IM.  Does that mean you are out for Augusta?   What about Gulf Coast HIM on May 8?  Linda, are you going to do that again?  I second Chris's recommendation on the Marriott for the Augusta race.  I stayed there and it was very convenient.

I'm back from the run......Goal was really to finish feeling good.
Secret goal was 2:20...I scooted in just over 2:15 so I was thrilled with that.
Was chilly, and actually started to snow on us as just as we finished. Now the sun is out. Welcome to calgary weather for the next few months.
Think its time to hibernate for a few months now!!

EXCELLENT!!!  Now go sign up for Lonestar.  I'm in the same boat as you.  It is going to be cold all the way up until I hit Galveston and I have already been told I will be in shape to finish the race and nothing more, basically a C race with benefits--meeting the gang.  Be a man! Step up.  Cool

Yes!  Great job on the half Trevor!  Cannot believe there is snow there already!  Suzy's got your number, you'd better just man up.
Congrats to Chris, great to hear you got the A-okay!  The local paper is going to be excited to do more write ups on their local Golf pro going LONG!!!  Go Chris

Nice job Trevor!  Hard to imagine you with snow since we are sweating here with 80 degree football games.

This am we had a 11-0 soccer game win, a 24-16 football win, and a heartbreaking 24-22 football loss.  So today is a 2-1 day at our house, but that one football game was hard...losing in triple overtime.  Now on to the college games.

Congrats Chris on making the IM jump.  Let the journey begin

Barry, haven't really thought about Gulf Coast next year.  I may just consider it so I could redeem myself from this year. But there is a marathon in March I plan to focus on.  However,  if there are some mg folks doing it I may just jump in.  Anyone considering it?????  It really is a nice race at a pretty beach..and this year it was warm enough for the kidos to play on the beach.  Actually - it was darn right hot!

Barry and Chris, Thanks for the Augusta hotel info.

Hope everyone is having a great weekend.

Good luck racers, that have yet to race

John, hope you are getting some sleep    BTW...your daughter is beautiful!

Unfortunately I guess that means I am out for Augusta.  I don't think my body would be too happy doing a full then a half thirty days later - not to mention my employer.  I will have to check on the Gulf Coast.  I have my vacation planned for the last week in April.  I don't know if I can take off another weekend before that, but I will check.  I really want to do it.  I will keep you posted.

Andy.  Great to see you're in for the HIM.  Sorry I missed that...Trevor handing out his wife's number got all  my attention.

Nice run there Canadian!!!   Snow.  LOL!

Awesome news Chris!!

Tony 16 miles?  You can do that backwards by now and still get the swim time in.

Linda, looks like an fun filled morning.  Sucks about the loss.

ABC has the Oklahoma / Miami game on here.  Is Cal losing by 30 yet Kim?  ;-)

Have a great run tomorrow guys and gals!

edit.. Jarrett is in for the sprint in Galveston.  Her first tri.

Congratulations, Trevor!  Great race! Yep, it was snowing when I was in Butte last week too. I'm not ready for Winter yet, so I'm heading out Steve's way. I think I'll avoid Montana as much as possible for awhile...  Canada too

Jeremy-  Are you still doing Pumkinman?  I live right next to the course and have raced it the last couple years.  I am not this year because it is too close to B2B but if you need anything, let me know.  Good luck!  Chet

Hi everyone - Tony and I are back from the race and more importantly breakfast.  I had an awesome race.  My pace was right in b/t my "in my dreams" pace and my real goal pace so I was very happy.  I think I did the race at 8:21 miles but I need the official results to be sure.  Off to the couch now, RR to follow later.

Thanks Chet - I am still planning to run this.  My wife's college roommate lives in Henderson (apparently very close to the course also) and we'll be staying with her.  We're coming into town on Thursday and leaving Sunday.  I'll definitely keep you in mind should something pop up!

If you aren't doing anything Saturday night, come out on the town with us!  It'll be my wife and I, her friend Andrea (who just started running tri's this year [PM will be her 3rd]) and then another friend from my area who's going out too.  We're staying at the Rio Saturday night... well, we'll have a room there, but don't plan to spend much time in it.  This will be my wife's first time having fun in Vegas, last time she was 7-8 months pregnant with our first daughter - we we're there for Andrea's wedding.

I am a bit nervous about the hills on the bike course.  I'm only doing the sprint because I'm afraid the hills are going to kill me. ha!  The elevation changes in climbing for the sprint course is the same amount of climbing I did for my 40k TT earlier this year.  The last few years the PM winners were only averaging bike speeds of 14-16 mph... yikes!

It would be great to meet you!  I'll PM you my phone number, if all else maybe we can meet up just to say that we've met

Drove to the Pinehurst Olympic tri course this AM. Did the ride and run. The bike is 30 miles and is a big tease. The beginning is sweet, then the most evil hills (OK not Savageman hills) start! These are long inclines that toward the "end" take a steeper upturn! Then come the 10K run. It is the Marquis de Sade course! No flat, all hills. I took both parts easy, but I ran 1:01 for the 6.23 miles.

HI gang. Back from my little vacation in SC. Came back in a marathon drive. left Friday morning and drove straight through to Ontario. 17 hours. Finally back up to speed here and yeah it took a while.

This morning I did the "Run for the Cure" breast cancer run today. Ran the 4 K to the race did the 5K race and then the 4K home again.t It was a spur of the moment thing as I just signed up on Saturday. Good run ( 27 min) but I am still having trouble with my sciatic which is causing some issues with not only my glut but now my left calf as well.

Congrats Tony and Sam on 15 yrs. If 15 is carbon fiber what do you think i can get for 30. It's coming up in March.  Wife's not a tri fan so I am thinking I will be lucky to not catch h@!! if I sign up for 70.3 Muskoka again. Also congrats on the run today. Sounds like a great pace Sam.

Tracy. Hope you did well on the Army 10 miler and the pics from the Savageman were great. I especially liked you coming across the line with your girls. Doug's pics were OK too

Lots of HIM's sign ups for the Lonestar. I would love to go but I'm thinking probably a little too far to go. I looked at the mileage and its about a 36 hour drive or better unless I fly and I think that is out of the question. HTFU Trev sign up for the 70.3 and represent Canada for the group.

A huge congrats to babyfatty. Has dad got you your training diapers and bike yet.

Trevor congrats on the Malf Mary. Sound like a good run.

tha'ts all the notes I made so I better sign off now.

Congrats to everyone with all our successes be they races, PB's or smaller breakthroughs.

LOL, for 10 miles according to the Garmins she got my by 2 seconds, according to official results it was more like 13, so not sure what is going on with the results, their numbers don't match anything I have.

She ran a great race, lol, I came up on her at one point and looked at my watch and was doing 8:15 to keep up and had to drop to 8:00 to pass.  Seriously I debated, hmm, keep my training pace and let her go, or training be damned and see how hard I could push it to run past her ; )

My garmin had me at an 8:21 pace, was supposed to do 8:30's so was really happy with that, did what I was supposed to do.

Congratulations on your results from the Army 10 miler.  I was looking for the results to see if I came anywhere close to Mayor Fenty but I have not seen the official results yet.  It was a great day, but a little crowded and surprised there wasn't any kind of Gatorade at the finish.

After the race, I was able to chat with a few folks I recognized from past races and fellow Coasties, but hurried home so I could take a nap before the Redskins game.  I guess I should have slept longer because I am already tired again.

haha, there was no win or loss ; )

Actually it did give me some good confidence for MCM, it was actually pretty easy to keep the 8:30/mile going so hopefully 9:00/Mile for 26 is doable.

Hi all.  Most importantly  CONGRATULATIONS JOHN!!!  Was she really born on the 2nd?  Then she shares my birthday.  That is so cool!

Congratulations on all the race registrations.

Had a lovely time with Sam and Tony at dinner this weekend.  Then they ran so fast I never saw them at the race.  Just me and 23,000 of my closest friends.  Left calf is hurting a lot still.  This has me quite worried.  But my run went very well. Garmin average pace was 9:47 and there were 2 9:30 miles in there.  I was almost taken out  by a medic trying to cross the road. She tripped my feet and thank goodness Doug was in front of me b/c  I completely fell into him.  Some guy was all decked out in a pimp outfit handing out beer cups on the last half mile in.  It was a great time.  Goal was 1:40 and I just got it in at 1:39.  Next year it is 1:30 all the way!!!!
