4.50am Sunday - race is this morning - yeah I slept around 3 hours!  lol.  I have not heard wind like that outside for ages...it's gonna be a long ride in that.

Oh well I suppose the answer is hang on tight and just ride safely.  I don't have aero bars so will get as low as I can.  worried all night about blowing over.

I hope the lake is sheltered enough for the water to stay calm.

I'm terrified but in a good way - you racers know what I mean.

Oh if it's really bad - there is a chance i'll change to the Sprint...but in my mind it's just one more lap of the swim and one more lap of the bike....we shall see.

You can do it Jo!  You've got the swim and the run easy.  The bike--just a training ride with a bunch of other people.  Good luck and have fun!

You got this- you've swum in rough conditions and running in the wind can be fun. As far as the bike goes, at least one direction should be great! Into the wind, just get in a low gear/ high gear ( whatever means higher cadence) and spin. Have a blast!

So at 6:30 this morning DH asked what we should do this weekend... after coffee, breakfast, packing and some dog sitter checking, we were in the car and headed to Zion ( where I told him I didn't feel like going on such short notice). DH loves it... the rest of us are on our maiden voyage. 6 hours of driving with two young kids and still was totally worth it!!! So incredibly amazing. I can't wait for tomorrow! I bet I won't even miss our Sunday morning ride

Well done Jo. By the way, link doesn't work. If its a pic, you have to get the URL of it from the picture page, not from the gallery viewer page, if that makes sense.

60 mile bike ride, followed by a 4 mile run; in August, in Florida - all without sun block.  Not a good idea.  'nuff said!

I got home from my race yesterday thinking I had a great tan or wind burn.  However on closer inspection the lake was dirty brown and that was what I was covered with.  In addition from changing my rear tire I had smeared my face Football Style with black grease.

Oh and on top of that a snot rocket in a cross wind was all over my right cheek.

And astonishingly no one tried to pick me up.  Go figure.

great job Jo. There is no stopping you now. How many weeks until your next race?

I've got 12 weeks until our HIM, definitely time to get back into the pool. I am so glad I am just doing the swim. I am so looking forward to summer, it is finally getting light here before 7am so it is getting a bit easier to get out of bed.

4 weeks until Sunshine Coast HIM!  Exciting.  I like a big race and a longer distance as i catch the larger people on the run!  I won't be last.
