great job Jo. There is no stopping you now. How many weeks until your next race? I've got 12 weeks until our HIM, definitely time to get back into the pool. I am so glad I am just doing the swim. I am so looking forward to summer, it is finally getting light here before 7am so it is getting a bit easier to get out of bed.

4 weeks until Sunshine Coast HIM!  Exciting.  I like a big race and a longer distance as i catch the larger people on the run!  I won't be last.

Nice job on your race Jo.  Those conditions sounded pretty chitty.  What's your plan to prep for the HIM?

I am thinking I'll ride more, run more and hell i may even swim more lol.  I need to focus for the four weeks - I'm not tapering, train until race day!  BOOM!

A bird attack and a flat! Shoot, may as well get that stuff out of the way in the dress rehearsal, should run through the rabbit proof fence and into the outback while your at it Great job, those silly little things just make you a better competitor (and I imagine, a stronger beak for the bird)

I find that if I change it to 50 posts per page I can get through it. I found the same thing with Monica's.

YAY the 2013/14 triathlon calendar is out. That means SUMMER IS ON ITS WAY! I can't wait.

So far a cursory glance sees 8 tris for me over the summer and maybe more if I want to do a TJ and race every other weekend. My summer season is looking like this for now:
October 6th - duathlon
November 3rd - women's only supa sprint ( I do this every year in memory of a friend)
November 10th - HIM swim leg only
December 15 - sprint
February 2 - Oly
February 16 - sprint
March 16 - sprint
April 6 - sprint

I hope that everyone had a good weekend!

Jo - Woo hoo!  After riding in that wind, you *know* you have this riding thing down!  You will rock Sunshine Coast!

Yanti - The more Kingsley stories that I hear, the more I like him!  "He reassured me they had a slow lane for triathletes…"   As always, Red Robber is beautiful!  You're not so bad eitehr ;-)

Monica - Fancy pants wheels!  Woo hoo!

Erin - Zion is beautiful!

Ann-Marie - That was some brick workout!  Sorry about the sunblock situation :-/

Salty - I figure it may be more of a tri sabbatical?

Stacey - Awesome race calendar!

Really will you be recovered enough only a week after your IM? Even if you're not you will kick my butt!

It is in Hillarys, not a bad course including a good ocean swim. I have done it twice (but as a supa sprint) once it was like glass and the other time there was a fantastic smooth swell about 1m high. It was great body surfing into shore.

I highly doubt that. I'll definitely be recovered enough to enjoy a sprint, just not to race it, and hell, I'll have all my gear with me anyway, right? Totally worth it for the experience of doing a race with you! Maybe I should make Kingsley do it too and walk the run with me (he does NOT run. Just doesn't).

Welcome back!

You have the Pearl Izumi tri shorts, right?  The In-R-Cool 8" Tri Short? Do you like them?  My recent pair of DeSoto 400 mile shorts don't fit like the old ones and I'm looking for other options.

(Other's feel free to chime in here!)

Totally weird, NyNy! My new ones don't fit right either and it's not the weight loss (other shorts still fit fine) ... it's weird, it's like there's a seam exactly where the inner part of my leg contacts the side of the saddle. Not happy and I'm going to talk to Emilio about it. Do you have the men's or women's? I have men's. I generally wear men's shorts, always have--I think it was you that posted the article about why men's shorts are good for women a while back.

I've been using and loving these http://www.sierratradingpost.com/orca-226-lite-tri-shorts-upf-50-pl... believe they have a regular ( not lite for summertime) version too. The pad is not as thick as the 400s, so that may be a deal breaker for you.

Originally posted by 4agoodlife So at 6:30 this morning DH asked what we should do this weekend... after coffee, breakfast, packing and some dog sitter checking, we were in the car and headed to Zion ( where I told him I didn't feel like going on such short notice). DH loves it... the rest of us are on our maiden voyage. 6 hours of driving with two young kids and still was totally worth it!!! So incredibly amazing. I can't wait for tomorrow! I bet I won't even miss our Sunday morning ride

I LOVE Zion!  I rode my motorcycle to Zion a few years ago and I still talk about it being one of the most beautiful places I've ever been.  We also stayed one night in one of the larger cabins and in the morning got to watch the massive herd of buffalo coming through the park.  Truly awesome!

I did!!  I love them.  They aren't very padded at all, but that's the only (minor) complaint.  They fit GREAT! I'm seriously considering getting another pair for all my riding.

Yep, that's the only way I could get it to work too.  I put a post in the site bugs about it, but it doesn't look like it's fixed yet.
