What's on my iPod and showing my age.

Against the Wind - Bob Seeger

I can’t drive 55 – Sammy Hagar

Running down a dream –Tom Petty

Roll me away – Bob Seeger

Fun house – Pink – Hills

Break my stride – Blue Lagoon

Running with the devil – Van Halen

Wonderful life – Gwen Stefani

Running – No Doubt

Run to you – Lady Antebella

I won’t back down – Tom Petty

It’s my life – Bon Jovi

Everybody's fool - Evanescence

tubthumping - chumbawamba

Tought little boys - Gary Allen

Yes, very heavy running theme but most songs have a fast beat count to help motivate me.

Regarding some work out music, these are a few of my favorites:

Florence and the Machines - Dog Days Are Over

Nickelback - Feelin' Way Too Damn Good (specially when running and it actually is feeling pretty good)

Disturbed - Indestructible

Smashing Pumpkins - Bullet With Butterfly Wing

Pearl Jam - World Wide Suicide

I have links to videos of those 5 here

Besides those I always get a smile on my face and forget about the pain a little when these songs come on

Aerosmith - Janie's got a gun

Sublime - Lovin is what I got (the live version)

Coldplay - Clocks

Pearl Jam - The Fixer (and a bunch of other songs by them)

The Kings - Switching to Glide

Disturbed - Land of Confusion

Our treadmill died last night - cracked deck.  So we are looking for a new one.  Anyone got any recommendations? 2 people run on it regularly so need a decent one.

This one is a Nordictrac that we got in 2007 and had 2700 miles on it so I feel like we got our money's worth.  Called about getting it repaired but price was getting too close to a new one to justify for a 5 year old machine.

What do you have that you like???

Thanks!

Epic TL 2300 Commercial Pro Treadmill  from costco.  1200 bucks.  so far so good with my fat a$$.   and can't beat costco's return policy and their customer service is top notch.

No Costco in these parts so that is not an option.  I have heard good things about Sole and use Precor at the Y so those are both good options.  Would consider another NordicTrac too.

Thanks folks!

Precor 9.31.  It is the lowest end model so not a lot of fancy prorams, but it'll take you to a 5:00/mile pace and 15% elevation.  It also has a fairly long and wide belt so that there is little risk of falling off. And no Fatty, that is not something I worry about!!

We have this ancient Cybex at our house in MInocqua and it is miniscule in comparison, but that thing has lasted for over fifteen years.

Top of the line is Woodway which is made down by where Dineen lives.

FTW, ..... if you are so soft you need to run inside!!!

We have a Horizon with a couple of thousand miles on it from the Bride and girls (and me when it gets below zero) and has need no work at all except some general care every 500 miles.  It came with a 10 year warranty on the motor and the deck.

Looks like Buffalo and Syracuse were recently annexed by Canada.  Bummer.  Does that mean I need to get a new passport?  Did they get they take those northeastern states too?

Then you will have to drive 4 hours from NYC back west to where I live.  Right near Corning on that map!

And Fatty...I pay a lot of taxes for the privlege of living in NY, I would never say it sucks!

Sam - you're racing B2B half?!?!?   Sorry if I missed this earlier.  That's awesome. We'll be there to cheer a friend that's doing the full so my Doug and I will give and extra shout out to you as well.  I know the course too if you have any questions - although Chet probably had a much better experience than I did.      Let me know your travel plans (when you know them that is).

BTW, you'll love the swim.   As long as they get the current right it is the easiest swim there is.  Just jump in and go with the current. My time for the full was 1 hour and you know that wasn't my mad Kyla-like swimming skills coming out Wink

That is my plan.  I will be studying th current before the race b/c I don't want to get stuck in the wrong spot.  They moved the date up 3 weeks for warmer weather and better current conditions so I'm liking that.

Love the play lists.  I need to update mine.  I'll try and post some songs around lunch.

For anyone that wants a cool experience I highly recommend doing the Pan Mass Challange. It is in the first weekend in August. The longest route is 192 miles over 2 days. The $ you have to raise is significant, BUT at least 97% of the funds get to the Jimmy Fund. I think they raised $37,000,000 in 2011. I rode a pre-ride one year from the NY/MA border to Sturbridge through the Berkshires.
