Thanks! So far, so good--I spoke to her and she sounds a little tired, but normal otherwise...I did figure out that Clint and I can no longer go to the movie theater though...we went to see Superman and she broke her hip...we went to see Wolverine she gets cancer...we'd best play it safe and wait for the dvd....Yeah--I make jokes when I stress and am worried..in case you can't tell.

The zoo's rattlesnake is going to Staten Island, New York, and the best way to ship it is by normal air cargo at the airport. Its pretty nifty to walk in the office and announce "I am here to ship my rattlesnake!" More so when the air cargo staff doesn't bat an eye, but the other customers take two steps away!I'm gonna miss the cranky li'l guy. (the snake, not the airport staff...)

I appreciate humour in the face of stress, Kate, I do the same thing.

And I love love love your zoo stories.

Okay, I realize I am just figuring this out now...but I remember on the old site, your next few days worth of workouts were visible on your blog page.  Is there a way to make that happen with the new site?

I think that I might have finally found a swim squad that I can train with a couple of times a week without having to drive 45 minutes to get there. So now to rearrange my schedule to make it work.

And in even better news the curse of Amazon strikes again

My current fave for motivation is Survival by Muse

Matthew Bellamy has the most beautiful voice. He sounds a little like someone but I can't put my finger on it (not Thom Yorke ...)

ooo.  ooo. oo. I want to play, but I need to know what kind of training we're talking about because the kind of music I listen to for swimming is different than running which is sometimes, but not always, different than biking.

I have a wide musical taste from Kutlass to Toby Mac, Needtobreathe....and classical.  I keep the music on shuffle so I don't have anything too predictable when I run.  Kutlass, Toby Mac and Needtobreathe are all fairly up tempo artists, Third Day too.

I really like Toby Mac and Third Day but they aren't in my running playlist. I second Switch's Till I Collapse. I think that's a given in a triathlete's playlist, no?

SWITCHY

I've done a 9-hour trainer ride in Speedos. (Same ones in the avatar pic)

I love riding in Speedos or heck ... commando. (Sports bra preferable though)

Faris al Sultan. Both Dorothy (Felicia/KansasMom) and I have a big crush on him.

You can buy speedo-style bottoms with a thin fleecy tri pad. They're really nice.

It's worth a try. If I were ever to do an IM warm enough, I'd consider wearing Speedos and having some tri shorts in my Special Needs Bag.

So I went for my torture myotherapy appointment yesterday. He says that after one more appointment this week and one next week I am done. I've been running/riding super easy the last few days. I figure I'll start to rebuild my mileage but keep the pace easy. I gotta get from here (about 3 miles) to 13.1 in 61 days. I'm willing to run as many days a week as needed to get there. Suggestions on a buildup plan?

So chatting with the myotherapist whilst he was torturing me, he told me about how he'd driven in to his garage on Friday with his MTB on the roof rack Yell. He also suggested a great auto body shop should I ever need one Surprised

Haha, my boss did that. Straight out of that insurance commercial hahaha.

About your return. If I were you I would do all of my intensity building on the bike, as it's very low impact and just do lots of very, very easy running, gradually building over the days and weeks.
