Elite 2553 Tucson, AZ | Subject: RE: BT May Mountain Bike (BTMMTB) Challenge Aikidoman - 2009-05-04 11:15 AM [ I STILL have not been out to Bootleg! I plan to get out there this month and check out some of the XC rides. I'll leave the downhill park to you crazies! We are planning a trip for the fall when it's cooler and they are running the shuttles out of All Mountain Cyclery. I have always wanted to go! But I figured risking injury on those trails wasn't a good idea before the race. |

Expert 911 Somewhere over there in Az | Subject: RE: BT May Mountain Bike (BTMMTB) Challenge Did a long ride this weekend, two laps of a 15mile course... still hurting from the weekend before. Scored 7pts per lap with a total of 14 pts. This will be the greatest point total for me this month... The rest will be shorter rides.. Will ride the same course again this thursday before the 104degrees hit us for another seven Go team!!!!!

I want an official ruling!!!! Mostly because I may be doing something like this in a couple weeks... I will be honest, this looks like ONE ride, so you can't brake it into 'laps'. That gives too many points, IMO. (or CAN we?). For example, if you did the same lap twice in one day or twice in one weekend at an hour each time with a hill and tech score of 3 each plus would give you a score of 8 pts per lap for a total of 16. But if it was ONE ride with two laps, it would be the same hill and tech scores of 3 each and a total ride score of 3 points gives you a total of 9. Not 16... One ride is one ride... I think you need to have significant down time between laps to consider them two, IMO. As far as what I am doing, I have a ride I am planning to do that has a 6 mile flat fire road to and from the trail head, but then an 8 mile of hilly and technical single track. I don't think it's fair to break it in to two rides, so I was going to take the average of the hill and tech scores and get credit for one ride time... For example, 1 hour of hill and tech score of 1 for the fire road, then one hour at hill and tech score of 3 for the single track, gives me an 'average' hill and tech score of 2 for over two hours... Clear as mud? In the long run I don't care since the point is to just get us out there riding in the dirt!!!! |

I guess you get penalized in this competition for going fast. LOL Trust me! It didn't escape my notice. You needed to take more time on the pre ride and enjoy the scenery!!! I was on the course thinking that you guys doing the full get the same credit as I did for the half! We both get a "4" for a race... But to be fair, if we get a bonus point for race AND the time credit, I'm down with that. You guys DESERVE more points for doing that loop twice... Edited by Aikidoman 2009-05-05 5:09 PM |

Come on, the first 2.5 mils was ALL up! (not including that one loose downhill section just before the nasty ascent!... I got a midweek ride in today. Extreme Veteran 700 Tucson | Subject: RE: BT May Mountain Bike (BTMMTB) Challenge Yes, I finally took my mtn bike out to FI. Did the Bunny, SnakeDance, Rez & Fire loops. So lets see, C for hills (thanks to the fire loop), C for Technical (although I finished the ride after dusk...so does that make it a B?), and C for time. So 6 points for my team. |

I took a wrong turn which put me on over a mile of some really technical stuff. I won't be making that mistake again. Come on team 2! I could use some help!!! |

I took one to talke to some ladies on horseback today... BUT, I use the ride time on the bike computer for this challange. But I used the time on my watch (including the break) for my training logs. Both wer over an hour, so it didn't make a difference. But the challange is based on actual riding time. Not smelling the daisies! |

Bummer I could have given myself a ton of points by doing 'laps' in my driveway - Elaine is such a stickler - darn her. BTW am I kicking your Milton ?
