Subject: RE: LIMITER + ONE February ChallengeI just got back to the pool from my 17th and final swim of the month, meeting the primary goal I set. Throughout the workout I kept thinking of it as a celebratory swim.
Progress was definitely made, while I only swam a total of 26.5k. I did meet some sprint type goals I set for myself in January. Decided that I wasn't going to get faster at distance until I got faster at the short stuff. So the following goals were set:
25yds - 19sec
50yds - 45sec
100yds - 1:40
200yds - 3:30
500yds- 9:00
These were pretty ambitious goals for me, as I'm typically 2:00+/100. Throughout the month I managed to regularly get the 25 down to 17 or 18. The 50 I managed a best of 39, and I did a 100 in 1:35 (while racing my 10 year old, who beat me by 4 seconds ). I have not hit the 200, and have not swam a 500 yet. But I now think I can get there.
So thanks for setting up the challenge and helping me get my arse to the pool. I hope to pull the same type of frequency for March. Swimming will always be my limiter but at least I'm a little better now than I was before.
