Since I graduated from high school, back in 2000

way back then, eh?

Do you have kids? A mortgage? If not, then try all sorts of things until you find something that you enjoy. I graduated from hiogh school back in 1978 and I still don't really know what I want to be when I grow up. Good thing that hasn't happened yet

Right now I am in IP network engineering, and manage a test facility.

I have a BS in Environmental Science/Earth Sciences with a minor in GIS. I also have PA Secondary Ed certification in General Science and Earth Science and most of a Masters of Education Completed. Now I'm a sales manager for a small manufacturer which makes products for the electric utility industry. While I love my job, it is not intrinsically rewarding. When I finally decide to grow up I like to think I'll go back to teaching.

I had to stop career jumping when I had a kid. Up until then my wife was fine with it. If you don't have those pressures keep trying on new careers until you find one that fits you.

I am an ASE master mechanic and a CA citified SMOG tech. I currently do over the phone tech support for techs for Hyundai Motor America. I'm no longer a grease monkey and work in the head corporate office. It is a bit of a change coming from a shop but I love my job.

Have a BFA in musical theatre, but decided not to go the NYC route. Also have a Master's in Lit. Was laid off in January, so currrently working as a lowly office manager, until the economy shifts some. I could teach, though it's not my ideal job, however, schools weren't doing any hiring when I was laid off (just lateral movement of existing faculty, and salary cuts), plus, they weren't even hiring English teachers a few years ago when I finished grad school and considered it - just math and science No one cares about books :-P

My job kinda sucks - a monkey could do it. But it's better than being unemployed. And it's only temporary, in that I don't plan on working here forever. I'm a permanent employee, but it's not exactly a life goal to be an admin for the rest of my life. Just where I have to be right now.

Human Resources Manager for a commercial construction general contractor.  I've been wanting to get out of HR since I began my 1st HR job 13 years ago...too much babysitting of whining/complaining employees (I have to remind myself that this isn't high school)!  However, I've worked my way up the ladder into a pretty sweet position at a great company, so I have incentive to stick around for awhile.

I finished my MBA last year and was hoping going back to school would spark an interest in a new field, but that didn't work.  I guess you could say I am still trying to figure out what I want to be when I grow up.

On looking up brevity:

You seem to be correct on that note

I'm a fund accountant.  Basically, I have a set of mutual funds that I do the accounting/pricing for on a daily basis.  I took the position this past February and feel I've already learned what I can from it, so I'm looking forward to moving on to something else.  I'll likely shift more toward corporate finance, and away from accounting.  I've got my ducks in a row for B-School, but want to finish paying for undergrad first!

I'm in ad sales.  I sell the advertising for a major inflight magazine.  I'm also making the shift from media sales to media buying- I have a small company (just me, really) and am representing small businesses who need some formal representation to handle their media buying without a massive price tag.  That's where my heart is- helping the small businesses grow.

I work at Yale Univ. Divinity School in Alumni Relations & External Development.  I've been at Yale for almost 7 years and love it here.  I have a BA in Anthropology ~ I had intended to go into higher education but lost my drive after graduation. I hope to get into teaching eventually, when my daughter is in school full time.

I am a Program Manager for an IT company.  Basically I do the same thing at work as I do at home.  I assign work to people and then nag them to make sure it gets done.

aquagirl - 2009-06-14 8:25 AM Hey welcome to BT!

I am a very sleepy NICU nurse.......work 12 hour nights. I have a moratorium on tired .

Now if you will excuse me I have to go and struggle with my insomnia.....which is a wonderful sequella of many years of shift work.

You are an angel to so many parents.  My twins were in the NICU for 2 months, one of them really sick in the beginning.  So sick they told us to call our priest, he wasn't going to make it through the night.  I thank you and all the angels who help our kids.

I stay home with my kids!!!  Best job in the whole world!!
