Apparently it means more time in a cast, time with a bone growth stimulator, and a greater likelihood of surgery...after a few months.  I'm so down right now.  The surgery sounds sh--y too...reopen the incisions, take out the hardware, rough up the bone, do the graft, put hardware back in, back in the cast.

I suspected my finger was infected because it was getting red and swollen and hurt A LOT...  I think I had a hang nail that got pulled out and infected...

Anyway, I sterilized a needle and poked where the pain was and a pearl sized drop of puss came out...  GROSS!!!


Have a nice lunch!!!!


BTW, feels MUCH better today.

Same thing happened to me a couple weeks ago but I just squeezed around the infected area until it came oozing out. Then it was the alcohol treatment for a couple days and was all good.

I tried the "sqeeze" technique - it has worked in the past.  But this one seemed to be a little deeper and that just succeeded in causing lotso pain.

A needle, then wash, then antiboitic ointment seems to have done the trick.

She decided she didn't want to date because it took up too much of her "veg on the couch after a long day time."  That's right, got dumped so she could have more time to stare at the tv and do nothing.  I must really suck. 

And I talked to the bone-growth stimulator rep today.  Apparently most insurance companies make you wait 3 months post-injury to get a machine.  And they cost about $5k.  F
