The plan will have on avg 3 riding sessions of 1 hr + the optional longish (2-3 hrs) weekend ride.

This sounds awesome, but I need to stay realistic with work and family . . . do you think there would still be benefit in 2x week?  Obviously something is better than nothing, but how much to you think would be compromised if I were only able to fit in a 2x/week schedule?

I'll represent Arizona, where we don't own trainers. I ride outdoors.

Your timing is perfect - already had two brief snowfalls this fall and the motivation is lacking. Thanks for your generous offer!

I'm not Jorge, but I would say 2x is better than 1x which is better than none!  With that said, the 3 workouts targeted 3 different things and built upon each other it seemed.  If there's any way you can make the commitment to the 3-3.5 hours a week for the 12 wks the program ran to get all 3 in, i think it will pay you dividends in your cycling fitness.  FWIW, i did the majority of my rides at 6am or after 9pm.  When I did do workouts during the day, I was playing Go Fish with my kids while riding.

I'll probably be game, too. I don't do any stuctured/scheduled training, so this should be interesting.

This is great news. I was not looking forward to a winter of indoor riding, but working with others will certainly help. Thanks Jorge!

Gaarryy - 2009-10-16 12:22 PM Go out and buy a big industrial fan now to cool yourself off..

last year I put my trainer under the ceiling fan and while it worked ok it wasn't until the other day when I got my floor fan out of the closet, and put it in front of the bike that I noticed what I huge difference a powerful fan has on your ability to keep cool while you are pushing hard on the trainer

Yup and get one of those sweat thongs for the bike.  I wiped mine down everytime, howver in the spring, it had a hard salty crust on the underside.

I remember seeing you post that you were going to do this again Jorge and I've been watching for it. I've probably lost most of the gains from last year by now. Among other things, a mid-summer injury put a crimp in my training. I've been starting to ramp up the swimming and running again but biking has been lagging behind so far. Thanks again for all your work on this last year, and I'll try to keep the whining down this year. I hope you can do the program along with us this time too!

I know how much work your program can be and I'm not sure I'll be able to add in the optional long rides with my other training but I'll see if I can make it happen.

I'm interested in the HR/RPE plan.  I should be able to train again (at least biking) by Nov 1.  And I can definitely use the cycling improvement.

Finally!!!  Ok so yeah I've been waiting to see the JorgeM "improve your power" post---and like some others have mentioned---it's a good excuse to get a PM (yes Jorge's plan was more then just in the back of my mind as I recently bought a PM!!).  So yeah I'm in with a PM----thanks in advance Jorge-it's really great what you give to the BT community all year but this is out doing yourself!
