kns57 - 2010-03-01 1:07 PM Hi all, I'm Kendra.  I'll get my goals posted before today is out.  I've lived on the east coast most of my life except for 7 years in California and 3 years in Jordan.  So I'm definately an easterner.

Hello Kendra...good to have you on a team again!

ebshot - 2010-03-01 1:32 PM I'm hungry.  I know, nothing new there.   But today is day 1 of my diet.  I have gained around 8 pounds since December and it is time for them to leave.  But, I'm starving!  No pain, no gain, right?  I've done really well eating today.  Small victory!

Erica hungry?????? That never happens! Maybe we need healthy food options? For lunch I will have a turkey wrap with lt ranch dressing, spinach, grapes, walnuts and a sprinkle of cheddar cheese. Warmed on a whole wheat wrap.

Hi Team - I'm Tracy and Wisconsin is East of the Mississippi, so I'm joining you all!  I haven't decided on goals yet - but my first half Ironman is in July and training officially started today (YIKES!).  I need to keep the goals in check though because I will be gone for over a week this month with no time to train.  Happy to see lots of familiar faces!

Tracy! So glad we are finally on a team together!

KOM - 2010-03-01 2:55 PM Oh yes introductions:

I'm Kathy, native of Amherst Mass, but spend grad/professional school and 13 winters in Minnesota, (on both sides of the Mississippi) and have now lived in RI for the past 17 years.  So I count myself as an Easternah and yes those numbers add up to a "Master" athlete as I am almost 52.  I've got one daughter in college and a 17 yo who is a junior in HS. This is my second season back doing tris after taking 5 years off.  I would describe my athletic ability as a younger person as never picked first for a team but never picked last.  It has been fun to challenge myself with new distances and sports.

Nice to see some familiar and some new faces!

Yeah Kathy! Love the new avatar!

Atlantia - 2010-03-01 6:37 PM Hey team! I got a swim in this morning and just got off the trainer. Interesting note. I worked out more today than I did the entire week of last months epic snowstorm. I'm usually a fan of winter weather, but I'm done for this year. Don't want to see another snowflake.

I'm with ya on "done with the snow!"

spriite - 2010-03-01 9:00 PM Can I join the East team?  I'm currently in Connecticut which puts me squarely on the East Coast.  I've had a super busy January and February ( I teach at a university) and crew season started up this month ( I coach) which means if I'm going to get ready for my HIM in August, I'm going to need some serious motivation and butt kicking.  Plus I've participated in 2 challenges, but haven't been able to meet my goals (due to various reasons), and I REALLY want to do it this month.
You're now on the East team! (Erica! Where are you? We have another CT BT'er here!)

Yay!  And you live in Groton, I just moved from there.    It's gonna be HOT sunny and warmish on Saturday.  I am thinking group ride in the afternoon!

hmmmm an outdoor ride.....one can dream!

Hoping to get into the pool today.  I 'm a little too stiff to run today after my half mary on Sunday.  Too bad because it is really sunny outside!!

Hi guys!  I added my name to the spreadsheet only yesterday.  Dee, you don't have me at the top of this thread, but I assume I can still participate?

As my sig says, I live in southwestern Ontario - Don't let the name fool ya- we're east.  We're in the EST time zone...LOL.  Basically, we're directly across Lake Erie from Cleveland.

I've got 2 goals this month.  Swimming is my main goal.  I haven't been in the pool for a few weeks.

Let's go EAST!

losta - 2010-02-28 8:59 PM Hi Easties! I live in New York. I am heading out west to Arizona later this week but I'll be working for the east team. I will be doing my first tri of the year next week and get some nice outdoor rides in. My bike is already on it's way there. I've been going through my drawers and gear looking for warm weather gear that I haven't seen since last fall. Have a good March everyone, spring is almost here!

Good luck on the tri!  That's an early season.  March IS here...I have to change my dashboard.

Good morning!

I'm doing a bike commute today. The ride in was uneventful. Hopefully I'll be home tonight before the rain starts.

ebshot - 2010-03-02 5:50 AM I feel trapped this week.  I have to stay close to town in order to take Cole his inhaler and antibiotic at school @ 11:45 every day this week.  What a pain in the arse.  Smack in the middle of the day.  If I didn't have to do so, I would head down to Groton and swim and do some grocery shopping.  Maybe lunch with the girls.  Bah.  Instead, I'll scrub some floors, run and maybe bike.  Perhaps I'll check out the pool in Plainfield, it's only 15 minutes from here.  I really need to get there and see if I still know how to swim.

You can't leave it with the nurses? Pain!

No because I don't have instructions from the doctor.  Silly.

I have spent all morning searching high and low for Alex's glasses.  She lost them.  They are nowhere to be found.  This makes me SUPER grumpy.

Good morning, team.  So nice to see so many familiar names & faces.  I'm Bill and I live in PA.  I've been an East Coaster my entire life.  Born in NJ, grew up in upstate NY, college at Temple University in Philly.  This will be 5 or 6 months in a row that I've been in challenges, so I think I qualify as a challenge-a-holic.

I got in a 1 hour trainer ride this morning and I'm off to the Y at lunch for a 5 mile treadmill run.  I think I'm going to have goals for swim, bike and run this month.  I have a half marathon on 3/21, so I'll be heavily weighted toward running.  Let's have a great, injury-free, illness-free, SNOW DAY-free month!!!

I'm still debating my run goals here... I'm stuck between needing to step it up on the run so I can prepare myself for the 10k in my August Oly but I was a running SLACKER last month and I don't want to add too much too fast. Plus, I am supposed to "run" a 4 mile "race" on Satrday so I'm taking it a littl easy this week. I can't decide on the "best" milage to aim for! Decisions... Decisions...

And speaking of slacking... I started the month off as a slacker. I'm trying to take it easy this week, but still. I plan to make it up with a short run after work and a short bike when I get home. I woke up yesterday feeling off - not sick, but not well. And one of the lymph nodes in my right armpit was all swollen yesterday. What the heck is up with that?! Not how I planned to kick off March! It is still sore today but not visably swollen so I guess that's a good sign. Definitely planning an easy week. I just want to make it through my 4 mile "race" on Saturday and NOT be last.
