Yay, great challenge! I need to log some serious bike time.

I plan to ride outside, at the gym, and on the trainer so this is PERFECT!!

I am still working on swim and run endurance so I probably won't get a lot of consecutive days in but I will stick to scheduled days and hopefully go a little bit further thanks to a friendly challenge and smack-talkin' message board thread

My preference is to go after my own goals versus competing with everyone else...I am one of those guys who travels a lot for work, so 3-4 trainer rides is what I can do.

So I will bail on this challenge and wish you all luck.

Just to throw my 2 cents in.... (and I haven't participated in a challenge in quite a while, so feel free to ignore my opinion!) I like challenges set up on a personal goal, too. We all come at this from a different point, fitness-wise, and have different training needs. I would be afraid someone with a competitive nature might be tempted to over-reach their fitness in order to "win" a "me vs. everyone else" challenge...

I love 2 cents!  Andy can we add a column with the points goal and % towards the goal?  I'd do it but once again i lean on my aversion to math and formulas

Will do tonight...

Done....

gerald12 - 2011-11-01 12:02 AM I would like to play but can not find the spreadsheet. Can some one provide a link?

if you go to google documents https://docs.google.com/

and make sure you are logged out then you log in with username: [email protected] password: challengeforum2

then you should see a spreadsheet toward the top called Nov Cycling Challenge. click on that

then at the top right there is a blue button that says 'share' and you can click that and enter your email address to share the page with yourself so when you log back into google docs with your username and password it will be saved on your homepage for easy access!

Added my name to the spreadsheet.  I also put in last night's ride.  It looks like calculating a goal in minutes is the easiest.  No calculating what percentage of an hour 36 minutes is Tongue out.  I am not sure what to make of the bonus stuff for days in a row or even if we are calculating points...

Let us know what you decide O Fearless Challenge Leader.

I had to update the cells for % of goal completed and % month completed.  Pretty easy to figure out.  Thanks guys!

uhm, KOM - were you riding after midnight? i just double checked but yesterday was NOT november did you have too much halloween candy?

and if you don't ride consecutive day's you don't get the points bonus - so if you wanna keep up you gotta ride more

my original goal was to ride everyday - hence the bonus point system. The consensus seems to be a challenge against your own goal. i think you can set yourself up that way and not worry about points

check your calendar and get rid of yesterday's minutes oh and WELCOME - i need all the help i can get against MAV!!!

Well my over indulgence in candy and MAV's throw down AND I GOT MY BIKE BACK so I gladly got on my trainer. Wooo hoo 4 pts. I have to say, my a$$ is gonna hurt tomorrow, that was the first ride since my 70.3 6 weeks ago. It's really interesting how my perspective has changed since the race, 45 minutes used to seem like a long time. After riding 56 miles in 3+ hrs 45minutes is NOTHING!
