Team Captains:

Just waiting for our crazy Canadian brothers + our west coast peeps to submit their weekly results and I will post the new rank order for review and comment.

Word to the rules: your teammates should be posting their weekly totals in their logs.  In other words, the weekly total in the spreadsheet submission for each teammate should equal what is posted in their logs.

Word to determining the winning team: Please take a minute to review the below re: criteria for determining the winning team.

Word about declaring a winner: The Challenge ends Friday night. Brett (Rocketman) and I are both doing a metric Century on Saturday. As such, I'll be gone from before sunrise on Saturday morning to well into the late afternoon (the course, which mirrors much of a leg of the Tour de Georgia, is in the north GA mountains) and then I have to help my wife pack the battlewagon minivan for an early Spring Break departure on Sunday morning ... so I will not be able to do the compiling until at the earliest after they leave mid-Sunday morning (she never leaves on time ).

Rick (Daremo) has agreed to take over the duties of the month-end compilation. Prior to that, though, I'd like to work out any potential quetions and/or problems we might foresee in determining the winning and losing teams.

See below ... any comments?

Okay, it is settled then:

Winner is determined by percentage of goal obtained and team average.

No credit beyond 100%.

In the unlikely event of a 100% goal acheived + 100% team average, then each team is declared a winner.  Axiomaticaly, the losing team is the team with the lowest percentage of goal acheived and, in the case of a tie, the lowest team average.

It is the losing team (no plural, but singular) that must change their avatar + signature line for 1 month, beginning on April Fool's Day (which I believe is an international holiday? -- help me out here, my Canadian brothers).

Relying upon honesty and the honor system, injuries can result in a lowered goal and, if severe enough to keep the participant out of commission for an extended period of time - e.g. better than 10 days - then their line-item can be dropped from the team's calculations.

Any further comments on the rules?

Team Captains:

With the WCC + PAC 10 submitting their weekly totals, the draft week 4 results stack up as shown below and ...

 HOLY SMOKES

... we have a race to the finish - both in terms of which team can win and which team can lose.

Remember, the stakes are that the winning team gets to choose the avatar + signature line of the losing team.

 WCC + PAC 1092.84%
 Big 10 86.40
 SEC/Hawaii 83.82
 Crazy Canucks 83.52
 Big East 77.20
 ACC 73.43
 Big 12 71.68

Both the top and bottom teams are too close to call ... how much you ride today through Friday night will likely determine the outcome of the challenge.

It is just that close!

One of my team members just informed me that I made an error on there goal for the month of march.  I put in there time as 600 min instead of 6hrs.  Not sure why it just got noticed, but looking back at previous posts they are indeed correct.  So that will raise up of % complete for the past few weeks.  Us Canucks are doing stronger then you thought!  I'll post our full march results tommorow with the goal corrected.  So that would put us at 85.7% last week, which bumps us up to third.

Cheers

James

Team Captains:

I will be out tomorrow doing a metric century w/Brett (Rocketman) in the north Georgia mountains, hopefully busting my hump up one of the gaps before lunch.

Rick (Daremo) has agreed to step up to do the compilation of the team results. Scott (Oneword) has agreed to represent TEAM SEC/Hawaii in tallying our teams results + submitting.

Thank you for being great team captains; for stepping up to lead your team through motivation + inspires, to set a great example with your own efforts and to compile the results from your team as well as double-check/proof my team compilation.

You guys are truly what makes BT a great resource.

I cannot wait to check in when I get back tomorrow night to see the winner ... and the losers avatars and signature lines!

RIDE LOTS!

I realized I don't have excell on my computer here at home ...... my wife does on her laptop, so I'll use it tomorrow morning to tally up everything.

It may be that you will actually beat me to the punch with tallying everything up ...... we'll see.

Tomorrow I have a nice long ride in the morning (my start to try to do the 700 mile club cycling challenge) and then my oldest starts baseball in the afternoon.

Alright - I believe this is where we end up.  We had a great finish and with the exception of one slacker (my buddy kpallen who didn't even offer an excuse!) we are all 100%.  Unfortunately that 33% is weighing us down like a boat anchor.

We will have to see where you all end up.....

Big East stats attached. One major thing to note is that one participant was dropped due to prolonged illness. Type A Girl Pilot got the flu mid-month and it knocked her out for most of the rest of it. This appeared to be within the injury/illness rule, but if it is not, please let me know and I will add her data back in.

So I'm going to be a little late trying to get the results in people... My home laptop was stolen last week, and I have my wifes work laptop at home but it doesn't have our spreadsheet on it.  I tried to download a previous one but it wont do it for some reason, it keeps looking for one of her work network drives that it isn't connected to right now.  If someone can download week 4 data for the crazy canucks I email the excel sheet to [email protected] I can update and finish off the spreadsheet.  If not I'll try to get in to work tommorow where I have a copy of the spreadsheet saved and get the info in.

Cheers

James

Wow!!! Way to go Rick! Here's to Momma and baby ...

I survived my century in the mountains.  Don't worry about the compilation after church/during our baby's nap (wife took the other 2 kids to Orlando for Spring Break, so I am bacheloring it with our 18 month old).

Not to be a stickler but your  "Member TTL % of Goal" is less than the 100% showing.  Sorry I am just trying to save our lousy Big 12 hides from the shame of the loser's avatar :^ )

Team Captains:

Month end results ... I ended up tallying the SEC, ACC + West Coast results based upon the entries in the team member's logs.  Please take a look for accuracy with a goal of confirming/denying by 8:00 est tonight.

Also, please be certain that your team's total match those that are in your team member's blog.  As the rules stated in the beginning of the month, all work-outs much be in the team member's blog in order to count.

Take a look and chime in with any corrections.  We will announce the rank order around 8:30 pm tonight (or as soon as I can get the baby to bed as I am bacheloring it with the baby this week!).

THANKS!
