They are a great program but come on. Their requirements for students getting into that school are pretty low. I am a huge Notre Dame fan and will be for life. I am also not saying their players are dumb but, half of them probably couldn't meet the requirements to play at ND. Out of the 17000 students who apply to Notre Dame as first year students only 1985 get in. 3.70 average GPA. I mean come on. Give Brian Kelly credit for reviving the program. Alabama gets a lot of the top crop because simply Notre Dame won't except them. When it is all said and done I think it will be a hard game for both teams. Notre Dame defense wins this one though. Fight on Irish!!! Why? Because we're talking about football, not academics. If you went to a school with high academic standards, shouldn't you know 1) how to stay on topic, or 2) the difference between "except" and "accept"?

My point that I stated in the post was that ND doesn't recruit the guys who they know would not be able to make a good student athlete. Hence me saying Kelly has done a hell of a job with the team he was given for the most part. They don't get the best athletes that Bama gets. That radio announcer for ND who stated ND needed more criminals on their team to be better and compete with the other teams may have been right. You might need to take a closer look at your own program, before making insinuations about others. Anyway, it's a football game. I agree, I hope it's a great game, and if Alabama loses, I'll still be proud to call myself a fan. |
