Thanks! She is indeed such a sweet dog! *Everyone* loves her, even my mother, the avowed pet-hater. I could go on and on about her, but I'll try to control myself.

Okay, so I'm new to the site. I was talking about my babies and someone suggested I post pictures. I don't know how to do this, but I'm going to try something. If nothing comes up, would someone tellme how to do it. Thanks.

Okay so I figured out how it worked. Here's more "shameless" info and more pictures. The two full brindles are Mary and Darla, both are retired racing greyhounds. They were both racing at Corpus Chrisit before we adopted them. The white and brindle is a greyhound/saluki mix named Fancy. She is from a breeder in a surrounding town who tries to interbreed dogs to find something faster. Then he apparently takes them around on trucks and tries to get neighborhood people to take them and if he doesn't get rid of them sells them as bait dogs. Don't know how much of that is true, but since we have a big pit bull fighting ring around this area I wouldn't be surprised (that is nothing derogatory about pits, I know they can be awesome dogs). They are my babies and spoiled rotten.

MORE PICS!

here's George, an 8 yr old Sheltie. Sweetest dog I've ever had. Oh, also the only dog I've ever had. He's like one of the kids around here.

I have to add a few here. I've had dogs around me all my life. It was tough going through college without one. First pic is "Belle". She's no longer with us, but was by far the best dog I've ever had. Lived 9 years, and I was with her till the very end. I miss her tremendously. We'd occasionally call her "Big White Thing" and she'd answer to it. Great dog. side note: She was an SPCA dog, so not sure about her lineage, but vets always told us mix of lab and jack russell terrier. Imagine that!

After going petless for half a year, I went on a business trip to Germany. While away, my wife wakes up in the middle of the night and hears rummaging downstairs (all bedrooms on the top floor). She's terrified and gets up, grabs the phone and proceeds to get little Emma and take her to the back bedroom where the boys are and call the cops. As she's in the hallway, she hears footsteps coming up the stairs. At this point, she's totally panic stricken, terrified, and near screaming. My youngest son, Sam, had decided to get up at 2 am and play downstairs (he was 5 back then). Personally wasn't ready to get a dog at that point, but for wife's sake we did. The kids named her "Bellie" as in belly. Weird I know, but oh well. Bellie is also an SPCA/shelter dog. She's a yellow lab mixed with weimereiner (sp?). Very pretty eyes.

I'll add our "kids" too. Tucker is a tri-colored Toy Rat Terrier and Juniper is a Minature Dauchsund. Both are "low rider" models. They love to get new toys and almost instantaneously rip off one ear and start pulling ALL the stuffing out. We have several "flat cats", "flat fish", etc. It works out good because each one has imprinted on one of us. Juniper is very definatley Pam's dog and Tucker is mine.

They are the best dogs in the world!! If Tucker wasn't the short legged variety he would LOVE to run with me and used to on a one miler or so. He had a knee repair back in August so he still isn't ready to trust his "new " knee.

I hope this works....if not the pictures are in my album at the address below.

Late to this thread obviously...whoever has the spinal-cord-injury cat, my hat is so off to you. I do animal welfare work and I know how tough it is to take care of healthy ones, let alone injured ones. It's awesome that you're giving that cat such a good home. The flag, too..that's great.

The dogs below are the ones who seem to be permanent. Truman is a Great Pyrennese, standing about 32 inches at the shoulder. Lain is our eyeless wonder yellow lab, Sabine is a lab/pointer/boxer/you-name-it mix and Lyco is a golden retriever/something-nutsoid mix. I also have cats (5 fosters and 3 permanents - yipe!), rats and a bunny, and just lost my two ferrets this year. It's a zoo! If any of you live in Georiga or Florida and need a cat, pm me, I'm overrun. :P

One day I'm going to photograph the guy who rides around the neighbourhood with 2 scarlet macaws perched on his bike handlebars. It is really a sight to see these huge red, blue and gold birds stretching their wings out like it's the best thing ever to be chauffered around instead of having to do all that darned flying.

Here are a few pics of Bella. Luckily we took some when she was a puppy b/c she was adorable. She's up around 75 lbs now and I think pretty close to full grown. What a great dog!

Oh, I am SOOO glad I'm not the only one who dressed up their dog for Halloween (Gus goes to work with me and since everyone else was dressing up, I didn't want him to feel left out!).

We didn't dress Mocha up, and now I feel like a negligent parent..... Next year.

We do, however, like to document her every move on film. Here's another picture!
