Ugh.  I've never entered a Challenge.  But... I've got a half-marathon November 18, and it's time to pony up.  Let's see, monthly average 2007 so far: about 30.  My highest running month to date, October 2006: about 54 miles.

So put me down for 55.  Best month ever.

Urp.  I'm looking at that "Submit" buttom with the same sinking feeling that you get when signing up for a race.  Here we go...

I'm so new this is my first post! This sounds like fun and a way to encourage me to do a little more than I had really planned. I'll add the extra via walking.

So put me down for 31 miles. I think I can averge 1 a day.

Yay!  Welcome to BT, AmbulanceDriver!  Great to have you aboard!

Alright I'm back, my pledge is going to be 40 miles.

This lines up pretty well with my planned minutes if I do all of them, which is a little ambitious for me, but I could use a little consistency and it's supposed to be a challenge.

Some of it will probably end up as run/walk but if all goes according to plan, maybe by the end of the month it'll just be run =)

I like the feet-avatar idea by the way.

Or, if we do our legs instead, we could require the non-winning teams to write "MUST - RUN - MORE" on their leg really big with a sharpie before the picture.     (You're gong to put me on the winning team, right?)

I can use some running inspiration. As already eluded to, weather can start to go down hill fast around here this time of year BUT I have just received my new warm running tights (yikes...they are clingy so can use some flab-fighting run-a-thon action).

Count me in for 45 miles.

this will be my first challenge in about a year (recent transitions like moving, marriage, and attending like 10 weddings) have put me off my training, but it's time to come back!  there was nothing like a challenge to get me to work out before, so here i go.

put me down for 45, which i think will be the most i have run in a month, ever.  i think even when i was training for a half mary i only managed 35-ish, but then it was butt- cold, and oct. isn't...so, here we go!!!  goooooooooo whatever team i'm on!

Hmm.  104 last month and 137 so far this month.  Next month has an extra day, but I'm doing three races next month.  So lets see..  Oh what the heck.  I'm in for 125 miles.

Mine if based on MINUTES (not miles), and put me down for 420 minutes (14 – 30 minute runs).

Doesn’t seem like much unless you peek at the near total lack of running since June 10th (oh wait, I walked/waddled my way through that Half IM).

I have never done a challenge before, but I know I am going to need all the motivation I can get in the off season. I am in for 25 which will be a record month for me.

Is there going to be a Giant Purple People Eater team?

I like your thinking If anyone else has any suggestions Im all ears!!!

Welcome to your first challenge!

Sounds to me like a great goal

You have been putting in consistent miles through the year and a monthly mileage high put you in great position for your upcoming half.

MrsUSMC - 2007-09-29 2:57 AM Boy this is hard for me to commit to, but I'm in. I hope I'm worthy. I just started shuffling a few weeks ago and want to be able to tri next season. My goal is to walk or walk/run a minimum of 1.5 miles a minimum 3x a week from 1-31 October. (I'm currently dealing with PF in my right heal) If it needs to be specific miles, I think I can do 25. Is that specific enough? Will I be the last person on the playground picked for a team?

Welcome! Im NOT a runner and do run/walk (and its taken me awhile to mentally get over the whole running hurdle) so I think you'll fit right in!

This is my first season, so I will say 35 miles this month..... do you count miles on the treadmill?  I've just started hitting the gym again and may do a bit of indoor running even though I prefer the great outdoors.  Here in the northwest the rainy season is just starting--ending in July.  I've got my first 10k in October, and hope to do pretty well in it, for me.  Can I be in my pal Kazho's group please?  Thanks!

Yes absolutely treadmill time counts... i know with the cooler weather it can be hard to got outside!

That and if the weather gets hot and humid here... gimme a room with aircon or I just melt

Based on the training plan I just imported I should have about 40 miles for the month. I'm a slow runner but I can at least get 'er done!
