Thanks guys...I'm in a better place then I was when I heard the news about Lymes.

Fatigue is better but both my knees are swollen common with Lymes but one is worse and has me limping at times so cycling is limited unless I pedal with one leg (did that today) and running especially down hill hurts.

It will get better. Injuries/illnesess help remind me how much I love this lifestyle.

I got my tick bite while riding on the road...pesky things.

I do love my new Ordu.

LOL!

I ride on country roads where at places grass and bushes come close to or go over the side of the roads and at times the grass rubs against my leg.

Honest I didn't stop to pee in the woods on that ride either

I'm like everyone else in wishing KathyG a get well soon! I've had some downtime helping my family out but ready to get back on track. Time to start buckling down again.

Hope you feel better soon Kathy!

And hey, I bought the same bike (in black) and few weeks ago, but not as tricked out as yours.  I'd love me some of those Zipps.

KathyG - 2010-05-19 6:02 AM My new bike....

Hey...I need to get me one of them there stands....I am always leaning my bike up against the walls in my house and it scuffs the paint on the walls...

Oh, and I would like some Zipps too, but I definitely want one of those stands!

Stand is like $15 and is great as besides marking the wall it helps the derailuer from getting knocked into anything if bike tips over. Your house is likely much less chaotic than ours.

I just bought a second one since now we have two nice tri bikes in the family.

Wanted to see the interest in having an "IMFL Training Camp" weekend in Panama City Beach.  I am wanting to go swim/bike/run the course prior to the actual race and thought that a group weekend would be more fun.  Any thoughts?

Initial plan is to do it Labor Day weekend (Sept 5th?) so that it is over a long weekend and that people could travel down without too much interruption to work schedule.

Friday:  travel day / run in the p.m.
Saturday:  Long Bike ride on course
Sunday:  early a.m. swim / run (1 loop)
Monday: early swim / travel day

It would be fun to do a training camp and easier now that SWA flies to PCB.

Not sure about Labor day as my kids are often busy with soccer tourney. I'd consider it though.

Is it still  tourist season then?

It would be fun to rent a house/condo to share. If I came I'd probably try to stay longer than 3 days though.

I did something to my knee last Friday and was on crutches as I couldn't bare any weight on my leg for a couple days. I saw my ortho, had a MRI and will find out tomorrow what's wrong and treatment plan. He did think I would likely be able to do IMFL as even if I needed surgery I would recover in time.

The training camp sounds like a fun idea, unfortunately I'm pretty sure I'll be too swamped with school to get away for 4 days straight prior to the actual race.

Hopefully you'll get some good news from the doc Kathy.

Today was not my day for biking, dead Garmin, flat tire, locked out of my apartment, glad it's over with.

Not too sure on the hat idea, but I'm definitely still interested in a t-shirt whenever that gets sorted out.

A training camp would be fun!  Pretty sure I won't be able to make it, but it sure sounds like fun   I know the course fairly well, but would love to give it a go when I am not racing...I"ll stay tuned, just in case!

I'd love to see the course beforehand and a training camp sounds ideal but unfortunately I'm on a different continent so it's not really going to be an option for me (unless I win the lottery!). Will just have to make do with peoples reports of the weekend.

Kathy - sorry to hear about your problems with your knee. You're really not having a good time of it at the moment are you! Hang in there and I really hope everything gets sorted real soon.
