As were the roasted beats with horseradish and shiso leaf, Shoyu Tombo Poke, Manapua, and Kimchi!!!! Holy goodness! Yum! Anyway, some really good news. My co-worker that got in the bicycle accident is back at work today!!! Excellent news. Yes, zoning out is bad. So glad that she on the mend though. |

My co-worker that got in the bicycle accident is back at work today!!! The poor thing. Her face is totally effed up...she had got a few teeth broken out and just about all of her top teeth knocked loose but hey, a little jaw surgery and adult braces and she'll be good as new. I told her I can help her pick out some cool colored rubber bands for the braces I know, I'm so sweet. She said really, it was just a matter of having done the same ride, so many times and more or less zoning out. It wasn't anything crazy, no car hit her or anything. She just got too close to a column on a bridge and her shifter clipped it, just enough to throw her. It's definitely a reminder to me to do my best to be in the present at all times. OMG I love roasted beets. That dinner sounds amazing. I am starving. Time for lunch. I'm glad your friend is back up and feeling better. It's a great reminder to stay alert. |

I do have one leg shorter than the other, but have orthotics. If anything is out of whack on that front, I know about it immediately when running. Not having any issues there right now, so must be ok. To be honest, I never had a 'good' bike fitting. But since to this point, I wasn't having any problems, I wasn't too worried about it. Time to look at that I guess, as well as possibly a sports med doc. I am relatively certain this is a bike issue, because it has only shown up since I started cycling regularly. Sigh. I wish I was one of those people who's body just does what they ask it to do without complaint or injury or irregularity. I don't think those people exist. I would start with a comprehensive bike positioning. What part of the country are you in? It's really important that you go by credentials and reputation from OTHER BIKE FITTERS on this one, especially if you may need bike inserts or a wedge. You're going to need a good bike fitting if you plan to keep on biking, no matter what. You may or may not need a consultation with a sports health professional. I'm near Vancouver. How do you go about discovering if the fitter knows what they are doing? This shop is nearby--how much can you tell from info on a website? They look good. The main things I look for in a fitter is that 1) they're FIST certified; 2) they're registered on SlowTwitch (Bad news travels VERY fast there) 3) they offer information on what a fitting is, 4) they have different types of fittings, and 5) they are NOT trying to sell you a bike. Looks like bicyclefitworks is mostly a fitting studio and secondarily a bike shop, which is always good. It's not cheap. Good fittings aren't. But they're worth every penny. |

Dinner sounds like quite the experience! I stand by my statement, not the fried chicken I know. Or at least the side dishes were different. Either way, it sounds awesome, and that is cool. And hopefully you were able to enjoy the entire experience. Good to hear about your co-worker being back at work. And a good reminder to be present while on the bike as well. I actually found myself pulling my cell phone out of my bento to answer it the other afternoon while riding along. I caught myself, pulled over, and called back. WTF was I thinking? |

I probably wouldn't do this until I got a better bike anyway...and you know, the current bike ain't broke either. Plus, I think I am too cheap to buy a new bike any time soon. Maybe when I do an IM in like, 2017? |

Coastal Carolina | Subject: RE: Yanti & Salty MAD MANATEES Part 2 -- Full Pod OK so I need know what would the POD do. I have been saving up for a tri bike, my plan was to have around 1300-1400 saved by the end of the year. Right now I have about 800 and on our budget I get my "fun" money in two weeks, usually used for clothes/gear/anything that is just for "me" basically. and between that and a couple of off duty jobs I could have about 1300 in two weeks. It would mean not leaving the house for a month or so besides to work and the anniversary is the beginning of July.
The trek store near me has a 2011 speed concept 2.5 in my size reduced to 1550 right now, I get a 10% discount, so right around 1400. My buddy who works there thinks the owner will go down to 1300 if I bring in the cash for him to see. Should I try for it or wait an extra month and hope it is still around and reduced a bit more? |
