Ugh. Biscuits just crawled in covered in some kind of godawful crust and she keeps yelling at me because I'm trying to pick it out of her fur. Admittedly, tufts of fur keep coming out with it ...

And she wants to sleep on my bed?! BLECH

I think I'm just going to cut it all out of her fur. She'll look ... pretty stupid. Not as stupid as she does now.

So one day I was painting the bathroom and was shaking a paint can.  The lid popped of just as the cat was meandering by and she and the floor caught most of the contents of the small can.  Of course, she took off up the stairs, covered in paint! I sent my DH after her while I cleaned up the floor and wall.  He had the pleasure of catching her and giving her the unwanted bath! UGH.  Funny now, not so much at the time...

There are people who actually paint cats. There are coffee table books of these cats.

I keep thinking, "what kind of self-respecting cat would allow itself ... "

I suppose my cat would, for enough dog food.

I finally just threw Her Crusty Yowliness out ...

My cat got caught in one of those soft collapsible laundry baskets and ran around the house with it attached to him like some kind of demented cape. Scared the heck out of slammer I laughed my butt off...

rrrunner - 2012-07-11 1:51 PM So all this talk of Pomeranians reminded me of my run on Sunday.  My dog and I were almost done with our run when I heard the yap-yap of an ankle-biter coming from behind me on the right.  There are no houses over there so I turned to look to see where the yapping was coming from.  I see, across the road, on a bike, a young person riding a bike wearing a backpack.  Sticking out of the top of said backpack was a Pom head, barking profusely!  It was hilarious!!! Of course my dog is a snob and always begins to raise her head and prance/run when she sees a dog being transported in a carrier. I guess she thinks herself superior because she is actually running.

HAHAHA show-off! Nah, I think she IS superior because she's actually running.

Agreed I see people with dogs in carriers in races WTF?

DONE AT LAST! DONE AT LAST!

THANK GOD ALMIGHTY, I'M DONE AT LAST!!!

Which is exactly how you're going to feel after reading the usual tome of a race report ... why can't I ever shut up? I don't know how all of you managed to pick the Manatees of all groups to be in.

Yanti's Brutal Poodle Bali Ocean Swim 5K

About time. So, I'm requesting more piglette in RRs to come. Thank you.

Although I can appreciate beauty in all it's forms, I respectfully second this Laughing.  And wow, tough race!  Glad you made the 5k decision!

X3. Motion carried.

I got on the old trainer that Clint found recently at a garage sale--it works, albeit loudly! In any case, I did that, then, while fooling around on the net that I apparently have taken too many units of classes in my LONG college career (mainly at a JC--not with financial aid)and that they college doesn't want to give me my financial aid as a result---mind you my 'financial aid' is only a federal loan--already approved! So I don't know what will happen--I can appeal it, but I can't do that until next Thursday, when the FA office has drop-in counseling available. If the appeal doesn't work, then I get to drop out of college and start paying back nearly 30 grand of a school loan that led to nothing! I am so angry/upset about this---I took a lot of classes back in the day, not knowing what I wanted to do, now with a total of 8 classes left total it might be for nothing! AAAAGHHHH!YellCry I don't know whether to cry or yell.

OK - I did another drive by reading - you guys are SO sososo effing funny!!  Very entertaining last couple pages!  Thanks for that!

But one thing Salt said (something about Yanti living in a pink house with a red door and the resulting explosion of Salt's head and her asking if Yanti knew what kind of work she was in...) got me thinking.  I wonder what all of our pod members do to make bacon?  Can we share that with each other?  I know some of you know each other from way back - but as a young manatee, i don't know

I'll share - I'm a druggist.  (i love telling old people that - they think it's so cute(aka clinical pharmacist in a small hospital)

Hope all is well crew - I'm looking forward to getting to know you all better!!

Thanks for all the kind words with regards to my race last weekend.  I wish I had the time to keep up with this Manatee Madness.  If I win the lottery I'm flying you all to a common location (Bali?) so we can have a two week long party of something.  Then we'd get to know each other Smile

In the UK making bacon is a whole different thing - plenty of ways to do it according to Fifty Shades of Grey!

BUT - I am a Merchandise Planner (in the UK I'd be a Merchandiser) - basically I work for a Menwear Wholesale import company and look after sales and stock/budgets etc.  More interesting than it sounds and I have fun every day.

I had a cat when I lived in an apartment in Athens, Greece called Stavros.  He was a brute of a tomcat and was grey and white and looked like Tom from Tom and Jerry and was just as dumb.

One day I decided to use some of those wax strips to do my legs - but no Stavros wanted some of that and got one sticky mess wrapped around his tail and leg - funniest sight ever he was tearing around the apartment screeching!  And he had to have a bath to get it off or be waxed to hairless.

MMMM, bacon!!!! OK, give me a moment to focus. I am the Sr. System Admin/DP Manager at a Bank Holding Company. I make sure all your financial data is correct at any given moment. I'd love to help Kate, but unfortunately it doesn't work that way.

Kate, keep after the appeal process and keep your chin up. And your education dream will not go away. This is from a guy that finished 2 years of college on the 24 year plan. If I've learned anything from triathlon, it is that I am tougher than I ever gave myself credit for. I bet you are too!

Tracy, I think you are a photographer with a pharmacy issue (oh, that sounds bad). Seriously, your website has some beautiful work on it.

I do computer support for NC State University.  I have done support for Water Quality, Poultry Science, the College of Ag and Life Sciences (the dean, etc.) and now for North Carolina Cooperative Extension.  I have done everything to the crawling under a desk to get stuff plugged in type of support to server installation and support (Windows, Linux, Mac OS X) to delivering and installing computers to all 100 counties in North Carolina to teaching people now to add news to the redesigned website.  My next project is implementing Cvent for Extension.

I've lived in North Carolina since 1990 when I graduated from college and decided that living with my parents while looking for work was a good plan.  I've lived in Milwaukee; Poughkeepsie (well, actually Wappinger Falls, NY); Newfounland, Canada; Waterloo, IA; Ramsey, NJ and now the Raleigh, NC area.  I went to college in Shippensburg, PA where I was a journalism major.  (My parents moved from NJ to NC while I was in college.) That clearly explains why I do computer stuff!
