OK, a few things and then I'm outta here to get my bike looked at. I think my BB might have another crack in it. I picked a good day to play hooky from work.

1) Adrienne - Do you have a family doctor or someone that you see with any regularity? Establishing a relationship with a doc is one of the things that has helped us get through a major health challenge in our past. Not to get into it too much, but about 22 years ago we went through a long scare that we were completely in the dark about what was going on. Our family doc did a BUNCH of research and pointed us in the right direction. If not for him, we wouldn't have gotten to the specialists that we needed. So, my input is that s medical professional that you are comfortable with is the first step. Once you are comfortable, you will be more apt to listen to him/her about the other stuff. Good Luck.

2) Kate - I truly hope that your whole family is healing and moving in the right direction. I think often of you and yours.

3) TJ - Take care of your teeth, that just sux.

I have a doctor that I go to if I am REALLY not well but that happens like once every 3 years, maybe? It's hard to build any kind of relationship with that infrequency. And then, honestly, I want someone who knows at least a little about endurance athletes. I just don't see how anyone has the time to "shop around" and additionally establish a relationship. Ya know?

I don't often get all parental on you, but here it comes. You have time to run your fool azz off for hours on end. You have time to spend with your family and friends that you love.  Make a little time to take care of yourself.  Ask your friends, talk to people in line at races, you'll be surprised what you find.  I found out our current doc is a runner when I ran into him at the Y on the tready. You never know, it may not be that hard to find one, but if you don't ask...

Selfishly, I'd like you to be around for a good long time!

It's quite impressive. They were working very hard. Of course, I was only delegated the minor tasks so I just took lots of pictures Smile

Yikes!  That looks like forearm busting work!  Good on you all!

No kidding! That's crazy!

I just feel that getting out the door and running has done more for my health than just about any doctor (minus the one who saved my life, but that was only once )

It's just not all that clear. What I am supposed to do and when. And why. Which is why I am asking.

I've seen them before but always good for a chuckle!!!

Am I more aero like this or this?  This? Or this?  This???

I like the aero bottle straw scene. Yup, been there

Loooookin gooood!!!

Posing is the most important part. So long as you've got that covered you are golden

Exactly!  It's all about how I look... wait, there's a race going on?  I figure the longer I'm out on the course, the longer everyone has to see what I'm wearing.  Yup, total poseur.

It's important to have a goal for every race - glad you've got that covered.

Way to go Tom!  Look forward to the RR.

Yanti, I hope the puking is kept to a minimum and most of it does not require a clean up...

I'm not sure who the inviter was, but I sure hope they warned the invitee about us ahead of time...Welcome Randee!  Although if you have already gotten through 9 events, you can surely survive us!

I had a long and weird day yesterday and got no workouts in.  I was up early for a podiatry appointment, worked, then went to this weird theatrical performance.  The tickets were free and I am not kidding when I say it was the strangest thing I have ever seen.  It was in the works/maintenance yard at Stanley Park (1000 acre park on the ocean).  The 'stage' was one of those cargo containerspainted white, bordered by stacked cargo containers painted white.  There was no seating because it was considered audience participation.  The first scenes included children being picked out of the audience and being auctioned off as part of the show.  There was a scary headmistress scene in which her head was projected onto the cargo containers behind the stage and her arms onto the cargo containers at the side, and she kept saying she was squeezing and hugging us (the audience).  Many of the scenes were acted out in the audience, with scary men in trenchcoats and fedoras on contraptions which made them fly.  The main character turned into a fish, and we were part of the jury to judge whether she was a 'fish-fish' or a 'not-fish'.  We had to put blindfolds on for no less than 5 minutes, to simulate crossing the ocean on a cargo ship...

Oh Canadians ...

Yeah, that's just weird

So, don't leave us hanging; what was the verdict?

I don't have too many original pieces of art, but one of my favorites is a painting I bought while is Taos.  Interesting place.

I get it, I really do understand the quandary you're in. What kind of wellness program do you have at work? That may be an easy one, or at least another venue to get answers. They should be able to provide the "schedule" if you will.  I may be in a house full of women, but I try to just keep my head down and go about my life in so far as some topics are concerned, so help from me is about like driving directions from Stevie Wonder.

And yeah, that one that saved your life, that was pretty important even if it was just that one time.

MtnBIkerChk or MBC for short. Or Randee for real. I turned 40 this year and for some reason I figured it would be a good idea to try some triathlons. I've done 9 sprints and number 10 is on the books for September. Next year I'm scheduling an Oly and a HIM and I'm an Internet junkie and could surf about swimming, running and biking all day long - and it looks like you all do so here I am! Of course today is the 1 day I won't be at my desk all day so go ahead, poke at the new kid and I'll have to respond later tonight. I'll even give you a topic to start with: I'm really bad about posting my workouts on BT but everything goes into garminconnect so if you're really interested you can check me there. Otherwise I will sit down and put it into BT. I'm only 2 months behind

Welcome to the pod Randee!  You're a brave woman to wade into this

That's a good call, Stevie Wonder Smile. We have a pretty robust wellness program. I bet I can ask them.

And Janyne, good call on asking either one of them.

It's one of those blecky, rainy days out... the kind that make you just want to curl up on the couch with a good book or watch a movie or something.

Motivation to go run is seriously waning at the moment...

OK, new boy names I'm tossing around...and, yes, they might make you laugh.

-Dirty Harry ("Go ahead...")

-Geronimo (who doesn't want to yell that while careening down a trail?)

-Lobo (strong, stealthy)
