Now I fear I have said something totally stupid...

Fitting right back into TAN

I've never met Tony personally but from what I heard an "excited" Tony isn't much different than a flaccid one.  Not much to fear in that department.

You had me at cheez-its...  I almost bought the Sam's club sized box the other day (at Sam's, go figure).  The traditional is always good but I may have to give the nod to white chedder.

Sorry TAN.  Need to vent AGAIN.  You ever have just a truely D-bag client/boss?

WELL, we have been busting our hump for a client.  More than I have ever seen.  Saving them money, doing extra work for free, expoditing, hitting every single deadline.

I can honestly say we have not put a toe out of line except for minor things (like forgetting to CC someone on an email they really don't need to see it).  In all the years of doing this (which is quite a few now), I can say we are going the extra mile.  Well, rumor had it they boss said "I am THIS close to firing them".

WTF!!!!!  I know when I don't do a good job, and this is NOT one of those times.  I hate having stuff said like that about us.  BTW, it was not ME that messed up.  The owner of our company needed to vent because this is what they said about him.  So he came in and vented about it.  It's really confusing.  He is almost tempted to take me off the job saying  "i'm not going to give them my "A" team/worker if they are going to treat us like crap"...

I have been their beotch from day one, and NOW they are going to say somethign like that?

Word is, this guy is an first class D-bag and the entire team was unhappy he got brought on.  He likes to run a sweat shop.  The good news is, all the other consultants think we are great (or they are lying to our face!) and work well with them.

Bah, I'm not going to try and think about it.  I would MUCH rather have someone say what I did wrong or what they expect, than to say we are great and good job to our face, then say they want to fire us behind our back.

It's just like a relationship.  If someone is mad at you for something, it's better they tell you up front.  Just cutting you off and/or giving you the silent treatement or being fake serves no purpose.  They may say that I should KNOW that I did something wrong.  Maybe, but even if I/we are that obtuse, I can't FIX it if you don't tell me what it is.

In cases like that, I stop caring if they are mad at me (which probably makes them MORE mad).  I'm not going to stress about what did I do to upset them and how do I make it better and just speculate.  That's wasted energy.  If you tell me what's wrong, THEN I can say sorry or fix it.  I don't WANT people mad or upset, but if you don't tell me, I can't make it right.  But I also can't stay up at night trying to fix a problem I am not aware of - even if I SHOULD be aware of it in their opinioin.

Gawd what a sucky week!

I may have to get some cheez-its or ice cream.  I AM going to make my FIRST batch of beer tonight!  To bad it will take 3 weeks before I can get drunk off it.  I could use a drink or two.  Also, I started p90x for the first time exactly a year ago to the day.  Figured it's a good time to try it again.  I didn't get the results they advertised, but I did get strong.

Man, your day is really turning out pretty crappy!  I'm sorry it is so bad for you today.  Try not to let the work stuff get you down.  At least your boss sees what is really going on.

I had a similar situation at my last job, actually it was one of the main reasons I left.  When I up and quit the client really got shafted since there was nobody to fill my place.  They changed their tune shortly after I left.  It was still a bad situation, but they got what they deserved in the end.

Good luck to you sir!

ETA:  Ha, just saw the irony in that pun! Laughing

Yes!  I used to tell my student teacher "Be a duck. Most things just need to roll off your back."  If you're doing your initial best, taking feedback, making adjustments as needed, and not being an a-hole in the process, what else can people expect?(reasonably

And sometimes a d-bag is just a d-bag.

You haven't started on the beer yet??? I figured I missed the first batch excitement sometime in the last few weeks. I'm sure you'll come up with something tasty, though not homemade, for this evening. We have an '06 Rutherford Hill Merlot waiting...for the weekend. Although, it doesn't seem very football-ish.

Well, first I was leaving for CA for the holidays.  I wanted to keep an eye on it the first week.  Then I ordered my ingredient kit when I got back on the 30th or so and it took till yesterday for it to ship.  I unpacked it and inspected the contents and got out all my gear last night and gave it a good rinsing.  The work will be tonight.

I got a Honey Bee Ale from Midwest Supplies that sounded good and had lots of good reviews.  I knew my first batch would have to be something the wife would like to be able to justify doing it again.  If she doesn't like it and I have to drink all 5 gallons by myself, it will be far between for batches.

After you made your "Queso-Its" joke awhile back, I tried Taco Bell mild sauce with the regular ones. Not bad. Less bite than the Tabasco ones.
