Trying to figure out how my choice is a reflection on my personality...

She has a particular "come hither" look in your choice, are you looking for   a good pick up?  Wink

Thanks Judi, this is actually one of the ones I was thinking of when I posted.

Skrat, it's all good!!!!

I'm feeling particularly dense right now because I don't get it.

It's always all good Chris...

Skrat, I think your avi choice fits your personality because you strike me as the kind of guy who might, just MIGHT, lose his friggen mind if a woman made eye contact with you like that while giving you the bent-over-cleavage shot.  Not that that distinguishes you from any other guy on the board, really, well, except the gay ones, and I don't know of any guys who are out on this board.  So, yeah, in short, it works cause you're a dude with a pulse who isn't attached and can just own the come-hither-boob-shot avi.

But I could be way off...

I've seen you've all been having fun lately. I haven't been able to join in as I'm in the middle of a shyte storm. Her Majesty's Revenue and Customs has decided to give me a tax audit next week, so all my spare time is going back over 6 years of accounts getting them in order No chance of me racing this weekend. I am trying to keep up with everything, but life has been put on hold for the current week.

As you were....

Ohhh boy.

On a different topic, the BAA decided to let in about 9K more runners this year for the Boston Marathon. It will be 2K short of their biggest, but still pretty forkin' huge.

I can't even believe it's almost time for registration. It falls at a great time for me as I am juuuust getting back into "yellow" exclusive.

I had my first track workout last night since I have been back.  Most of the team is doing a big HM this weekend so the workout was 4.5 miles at HM pace, 4 minutes rest, and then 3 x 800 with 2 minutes rest between. I just helped* pace my friend for the 4.5 then ran the 800s at my pace.

It felt good to run on the track again!

First and foremost, this workout is just ridiculously awesome.  I saw those splits, missy.  AHHHHVERYVERYNICE.

Any guesses how long that registration will last?  I'm thinking I won't make it running on the 22nd :/  May try to scramble and see if I can find a close one the weekend before.  Pretty sure everything I'm doing right now is in the "How Not To Train for and Run a Marathon Bible."

I saw that announcement as well. I like how they are staggering the registration to let the "fasties" have first crack at it.

I started the book you  sent and have a hard time putting it down. I got to my hotel room at about 10:30 last night and thought I'd read "a little bit" to relax. Yeah... it was more than a "little bit" before I finally put it down.

And speaking of my hotel room... would you PLEASE put a SBux in Taos. I tried 3 different local Joe joints over the three days and wouldn't go back to any of them! The chai was overpriced and lower quality than SBux

What have i done? Help me I have created an exercise monster!

So I have this great friend at work that has been morbidly obese for her entire adult life. She has done every yoyo diet that you can think of and then some. In October last year she started the Dukin diet after a number of other people at work had lost a fair bit of weight doing it. So a requirement of the diet is that the person must walk for at least 30 minutes 5 days a week. This was like telling her that she must climb Everest every day. So she asked me to keep her accountable and told me I had to make her check in every day to tell me if she had done her walking.

So we have some great weeks and some not so great weeks but 10 months later she has lost 40kg (nearly 90#), she has about 15kg to go but more importantly she walks most days and on Saturdays she drags her husband out for a 10km walk with their dogs. She travels a bit and now will not stay at a hotel that doesn't have a gym or fitness facilities and checks the distance from the train station to the hotel so that she can walk instead of taking a taxi. She is talking about doing a fun run with me early next year - insisting that she will only walk because her knees cant handle running but even that is a huge thing for her because 10 months ago she was too embarrassed to exercise outside in case someone saw her.

She is talking about a poolside holiday in Bali in April with her new bikini body, so now I have to get cracking so that I can join her and blind all of Yanti's countrymen with the whiteness of my skin.

I can't believe the change in her and I am so very proud of her. Her exercise regularity puts me to shame and is making me embarrassed about how easily I find better things to do than the workout that I had planned.

Reformed anythings (smokers, drinkers, gamblers, etc) are the worse!   Just kidding, that's great that she's made such a big change and that you helped her get there.

That's fantastic!  Wow, 90lbs.  And it sounds like it has become a lifestyle change too.

That's fantastic!  Wow, 90lbs.  And it sounds like it has become a lifestyle change too.

That's really amazing!  I'm proud of her.

Well, I wasn't planning on doing another triathlon this year, but it seems a number of people in my masters swim group are doing one 9/15. Hmmmm...  It's the course I just did.  I'd like another crack at it...  It's the weekend in between the two centuries that I'm doing.  But I figure all the riding will only help.  Right?

Oh. Em. Gee. You did NOT find THAT photo

I'm going to be laughing my azz off through the whole race thinking of you guys ...

I know that Bible.
