Zilla - 2009-12-29 3:08 PM
Aikidoman - 2009-12-29 3:56 PM So, I'm thinking of a philosphy change...

I may start transitioning to "live for the moment" than the current dogma I have perscribed to...

Thoughts?

I like it.  I am there myself.  I am gonna do what I want with who I want when I want and I don't care if it's not appropriate or if someone approves of it or not  ...  this is MY life and I don't owe anyone an explanation and I am tired of living by other people's moral compasses and being judged on how I choose to live my life.  Eff it.  It's gotten quite old.

In the wise words of Wheezer ...

Imma do the things that i wanna do
I ain't got a thing to prove to you
I'll eat my candy with the pork and beans
Excuse my manners if i make a scene
I ain't gonna wear the clothes that you like
I'm fine and dandy with the me inside
One look in the mirror and i'm tickled pink
I don't give a hoot about what you think

I like it...  Maybe that's what us 'old' people say????  I JUST KID!!!!

I guess I'm tired of doing just about EVERYTHING for someone else or for something down the road...

Training is one of the biggies (that I can discuss on an open forum...)  I'm tired of treating each workout as a means to an ends rather than just enjoying the time I'm out on the road or in the pool AT THAT MOMENT...

But there is a lot more that just that...

Aikidoman - 2009-12-29 5:05 PM Here is my latest pet peeve with the wifey...  I tend to accept her wishes and just move on without much argument, but it's not reciprocated a lot of the time...

FOR EXAMPLE...  If she says she doesn't want pizza or italian for dinner, I say (to myself) "fine, no pizza or italian, let's think of something else".  and come to a compromise...

Tonight, she wants to get sushi.  I LOVE sushi, but not in the mood for it, so I said "no, I don't want sushi, lets do something else".  (I rarely am that decisive)...

Well, it turned into a 10 minute arguement of why sushi is more practical tonight (happy hour, budget, location, etc).  I finally snapped and said "why if you don't want something, we just pick something else, but if I don't want something, it has to turn into a arguement????"

I think I need to eat something.  I'm hangry...  maybe some sushi

Hangry.  That's my new word for the day.  I totally get hangry if I don't get food when needed.

Well, I was HOPING for a "you're right honey, I'm sorry, and can accept that.  if you don't want sushi, we can do something else!"...

I got something more like "FINE, we will just do whatever YOU want, and don't want to fight about it any more".

I tried to say it's not what "I" want, but a compromise.  But she can't see through the anger cloud right now to realize that...

I also like how "we should update this/that" in the house really means, "Jim, update this/that"...

Funny how our "group project" turns into a whole lot of work for me....

Bold and underlined...the very definition of modern American marriage.  Makes me jealous of the Archie Bunker era.

Aikidoman - 2009-12-29 5:00 PM I thought about getting into photgraphy more...  I photographer friend of mine offered to let me do his headshot work (sort of as a joke), but I think that if I assisted for a while, and learned the in's and out's of it, it could be a career change (or at least a side gig)...

If I were you, I'd start with something more artsy...tasteful negligee and nudes in black and white... only the tasteful stuff.  I bet that you could find some volunteers models in BT.
