I started to respond to this, then realized I really didn't have anything to say!Just take notes. Obviously I should write a how to book about optimal marathon taper. If it's guaranteed to Boston Qualify, sign me up. I'm in just for the drag queens. Marathon optional. |

It was awesome, a ropes course/zipline through the trees. What a blast! Janyne, had I of known how much fun it was, I would have suggested it to you instead of Busch Gardens while you were here. It is right down the road from the Gator Half. And yes, there were pics taken. Looks like you both had a great time, fear of heights and all! Way to HTFU. Love your Jeep spare tire stickers as well |

Master 7712 Orlando | Subject: RE: Mad Mutant Manatee Mentors 4--CLOSED On Saturdays I run with a running group organized by the LRS. The store also puts on most of the races around here, including the Disney Marathon weekend stuff. It has been running these marathon (and other) training programs for lots of years. Anyway, the Saturday before Boston the group puts on an unofficial HM called the Left Behind, Left Over HM. Left behind because we didn't get to go to Boston and left over because at the end of the run you can load up on the race shirts and awards not given out at the various races. I don't know why people want awards they didn't earn, but they do! I like getting a couple of the shirts b/c I then use them to run in and don't have to buy any. we have to sign waivers, wear race numbers and are timed ( no timing chips though) and at the end, in addition to collecting the swag, we have a pot luck breakfast. It is a pretty fun time. - other than the 5 am start. So, that's what I'm doing tomorrow! |

This made me laugh and wince :/ Sorry your day turned out so crappy. Hopefully the rehydration is working it's magic. Its been a somewhat unpleasant day today...I woke up, planning on doing a bike ride to/from school---going from a spot slightly farther than what I am used to--15+ miles one way rather than 12+ usual. Of course had a little bit of stomach issue in the AM, but figured it was a one time issue and went on my way. Halfway in the ride, I felt a bit off, but my mind overruled the off-ness, and I continued. By the time I got to school, I felt good again...and hungry. I grabbed a smoothie and made it to my first two classes. by the end of the 2nd class, I had a VERY hungry stomach and grabbed some food. Within 15 minutes of eating, I wished I hadn't... by class #3, I was making repeated trips to the bathroom and fighting through hot flashes. I made it through 15 minutes of class #3 and gave up. Sadly, I had another 15 mile ride to deal with! I muscled through it, and tried (succeeded) mind over matter and made it home...I decided that dehydration was a minor factor right now, so grabbed a Nuun tablet and am sipping it while dozing and watching tv...I am feeling mostly normal now (dare I say, hungry again?), but I think I will stick to re-hydrating for now and stay away from food for the night. Sorry to over share, but I was curious of how others deal with (possible) food borne belly issues--luckily only lower end, but still icky. I also wanted to share that I did still do my full bike--but I think that the decision there may have been just stubborn stupidity. Literally. lol. |

If I ever go further then that, you know the stickers will be on there. I may never get a tattoo, but I sure will put stickers on my spare tire cover. That's pretty awesome! What's a 5150? I could not fall asleep last night, my mind kept going at about 80mph...I did eventually crash, but it was after midnight. I woke up still feeling off--not as bad, but I am thinking it is going to be another day of hydration only. Of course now I am exhausted too...I can't even call in to work, so off to it I go. Hope your tummy feels better soon, Kate. I've found that Gatorade, ginger ale, dry crackers and regular pretzels can go a long way to making unhappy bellies feel better. Take care. |
