work is the worst.

on one hand, my boss is telling me i'm wasting my time doing unimportant things.  on the other hand, the shipping department is telling me to package my own things before i ship them out (although i specifically requested packaging assistance so i didn't have to waste my time doing unimportant things).

gahhhhh

A lady I train with just put her old Cervelo up in the garage and bought one of these this year and loved. Used it all season and couldn't stop talking about it.

Her Cervelo was very old aluminum frame so large upgrade for her.

I was in line for a Shiv from a friend that is a PRO but she is holding on to it for now.

I am considering the SHIV or TREK.. The trek has a longer reach through.

One of the reasons I quit this place.

No one wants to actually do work around here and no one will do anything unless the plant manager says to do it. I can't understand why someone in shipping can't pack something and ship it.

I mean I only work in shipping and now you actually want me to ship something. FACEPALM

Tired of lazy people. I have only worked at this place for 2 years shortest I have worked anywhere and I am outta here now. I tried to give it the college try but I had enough.

The turn over at this place is nuts too. Lets just say at 2 years I lasted longer then half the management staff that has turned over 3 times.

there is just an unbelievable amount of bueracracy and posturing here and it's ridiculous.  we are all here to serve the customer, why do we have to fight each other on the way to doing that?

I would tell the boss you agree 100%, then show how the shipping dept. is making you do it and not doing their job.

Yeah I would test ride it for sure. The gal is local. I'd probably even ask her to meet me at the LBS so a mechanic can for SURE say he can fit me to it. She just sent me pics. It's so pretty.

I can't believe how inexpensive they are for what you get!!!  I'll be getting more, fo sho

Good call with the LBS and fitting the bike - I hope it works out, everyone should have a pretty bike!

i've been using e.l.f. brushes for years - they were recommended by a professional makeup artist - but haven't tried their makeup yet.  i get so nervous about trying new brands, would hate to have a bad reaction!!!

Dang, one of those lose/lose situations.

A coworker came in and asked if I wanted to do lunch and catch up/talk.  He invited someone else too.  Well, 12:00 rolls around and a client comes in to see him.  Me and the other guy wait around for 20 minutes and the client is still there.  So I send an email saying sorry that we waited as long as we could (I had to be back by 1pm) and ended up going for a walk and a quick stop for some soup to go.  We KNEW he was going to be mad when we got back because he seemed SO excited about going out for lunch - really looking forward to it.

Sure enough, he was pissed we left him when we got back at 1.  Probably wont' talk to me for days or invite me to lunch for months....

Dear Kido's Coworker,

HTFU. This isn't 4th grade.

Sincerely,

HR

Flipped me the bird twice on top of that.  Obviously not purely in rage and a joke, but he was mad...

ETA:  Ok, I admit it's hard to read him since he has SUCH a dry sense of humor.  Just came in laughing about it.  His indignation was fake, but believable (and not beyond the realm of possible reactions from him).

Unless he changed because he is stalking me on BT.  He does dabble in triathlon.

Speaking of triathlon.  Watched Kona last night.  Sort of gave me the bug again.  Man, I would love to race that course.

I'm on a roll (caffeine).  I have some frozen berries about 6 months old, unopened and two pie crusts that may be up to 11 months old.

Think they are freezer burned?  I almost bought new ones and just threw them away.  But, I figured I could give them the taste test.  I would just hate to waste even more ingredients making something with freezer burned stuff.  Obviously taste before assembly - doesn't take a rocket surgeon to know that.

As a side note.  I'm in love with all my cast iron cookware.  I have been starting to collect it.  I made a pork loin last night.  Browned it on the stovetop then threw the entire thing in the oven to finish off.  Turned out great.  I also have a cast iron cobble recipe that's awesome and gong to make cast iron cornbread.  The griddle is cool and my dutch ovens rock...  Now that it's winter, it's ok to heat up the oven a bit more so I get to use them more.

I liked the coverage this year a lot better than last year... and yeah, seeing the footage gets me all excited about racing again.

The ONLY way I'll be able to do Kona is if I either win a lottery spot, or if I'm the only one who shows up in my AG on race day.  Could happen, right?

I was trying to be helpful (okay, and cute) last night and pre-made green chilie chicken - all that needs to be done is pop in the oven for 30 minutes. But now Brian missed his connecting flight and won't be home till way late.

ALSO I am meeting the girl with the Trek at the bike shop at noon tomorrow with cash in hand!!! I'm so excited.

Regalia always helps even if your team can't see it. I love the Bud Light "superstition" commercials because I totally do that. I"be even Ben known to unfurl the terrible towel over the TV set for big Steeler games. It worked for the "terrible tackle" en route to Super Bowl XL.
