Master 10208 Northern IL | Subject: RE: Manatee Mayhem Part Deux - 2017 Edition Looks like Mary should be ok. Still going to be 30's, but just missing on having wet stuff falling during the event, making it much less difficult to handle. Though down here is 100% all morning with some ice particles showing up. Didn't have anything outside planned for the morning anyway. Melon Presser 52116 | Subject: RE: Manatee Mayhem Part Deux - 2017 Edition HI MANATEES I really miss you and dreamed about coming by, so that's at least one dream I can have be reality STACE FACE -- best wishes and prayers for your mum. Just as well you didn't do the tri, it was kinda disastrous (but a very fun disaster and yes of course I wolf whistled at cute guys ... our own cute guys, Perth Hills Tri is known as the Wolfpack ) HORNY MELON -- warm healing melon presses for your hand. DAZZERS -- holy crap the crazy Welshman is back ... is "crazy Welshman" redundant? MARIA -- how'd the mary go? I must know! So much more ... it does feel wonderful to be here, like coming home. My own life feels more painful than I can bear, yet, every day I am surrounded by amazing people who help carry me through. |

Pennsylvania | Subject: RE: Manatee Mayhem Part Deux - 2017 Edition Hi, kids! Proof of life post, I've been away for training for work all last week. After that week of not doing physical training and being more sedentary than usual, I feel like I need a big kick in the pants to get back on track with being active and reeling in my diet again. Adult metabolisms suck. |

Veteran 2441 Western Australia | Subject: RE: Manatee Mayhem Part Deux - 2017 Edition Mums surgery appears to have gone well. I dropped her off at 6:30am and picked her up at 2pm. She could have been discharged earlier but she ended up with a bad migraine. She is up and about unaided around the house, but will use one crutch at work for the next week or so just so the little kids that she works with not run into her. But just as I thought life couldn't get busier one of our dogs became lame in her back legs yesterday. At first it was just one but then the other one went too. Weird thing is that she was ok at 5am when I let them out but at 7:30 she couldn't use her back leg. Phil said they had just been laying around in the back yard while I took mum to the hospital. There is no evidence of a tick, or a spider bite or a snake bite. So we are perplexed. She stayed over night at the vets on pain meds and anti inflammatories and they are going to do x-rays this morning. The good thing is that she has feeling in her toes so just a waiting game this morning. On a good note the puppies are doing well (and I am counting the days until they leave ) (IMG_2507.JPG) Attachments ---------------- IMG_2507.JPG (2091KB - 5 downloads) |

1731 Denver, Colorado | Subject: RE: Manatee Mayhem Part Deux - 2017 Edition THANK YOU!!!! everyone for all your advice, tips, and support. Sorry I could not reply sooner, I read the comments about the weather prep, just didn't get a chance to respond. I packed plenty of different clothes and accessories for different types of weather. It was not raining, the weather was just perfect (cool, no sun, no rain, no wind). I had a blast! It was the best run I've ever done, which surprises me given my very poor training. I only had one tiny crisis before mile 25, but knew it was just one more mile, and I would manage. No blisters, no pain, no philosophical thoughts and life changing decisions My legs felt like wood yesterday, but no pain. Feeling great today as well. Apparently, my body handles longer distances much better than shorter ones... Which makes me already thinking about next challenge... Race report will come whenever I have a moment to reflect on things. But before that, I really want to thank all of you who supported me, gave me all the advice, and words of encouragement. |
