Expert 1231 B'ham | Subject: RE: swbkrun's group- CLOSED Trevor - Nice job!!! So the wife, daughter and I made it to Spokane today. Our little girl is 19 months old, we were in the car for about 6.5 hours and she was an angel the whole time - totally awesome. There is still a ton of snow here at my parents. It hasn't snowed in a couple weeks and they still have a couple FEET in the yard. I'm guessing running is going to be a challenge this week. |

I did, mine wasn't very good, 2 of the 3 USAT events I did were my worst. Yeah, I was trying to make sense of it.... It looked as if my ranking was actually skewed in my favor which I do not think is really a good thing. My first tri last year was called the "first tri" and really only included beginners as there was also a sprint and olympic distance. Anyway, I won the event and it gave me a crazy rating of 113 so my overall number seemed to be a little off. |

Elite 4108 Calgary,AB,Canada | Subject: RE: swbkrun's group- CLOSED Thanks all...It really is motivating when someone says,(other than you wife who is just programmed now) "GOOD JOB!" And Barry, I totally agree. I feel bad if I leave a day blank in my calendar, so I always need to fill it with something. It almost turns into a competton within myself. You want to keep adding things for 'fear' of having a 'blank' day. |

Had a speed workout scheduled for today but no way I am running outside today it seems Canadian cold here 18 Degrees with windchill 3.. Will probably just hit the trainer tonight and pick up my running again tomorrow. It is supposed to be 60ish here this weekend, crazy weather. Might try to get out for my long run with the wife on Sunday, lol we never train together. |

Expert 1007 Missouri | Subject: RE: swbkrun's group- CLOSED Trevor - congrats on the PB! Your time is a full 10 min faster than my best 10k time (but I'm hoping to set a new PB on the 22nd). Great job! I got most of my interval run done last night - 5 of the 7 total miles. I still did the 3 x 1 mi intervals, just shortened the warmup and cooldown. Not too bad considering it's the first time I've tried that type of workout. I'm going to try to make up the missing 2 miles during an easy run at lunch today. Our weather is changing for the next couple of days - in a good way. Instead of highs in the 20's (like the past 2 days), we'll have highs in the 50's to near 60 for the weekend. Also a chance for rain, but that's OK as long as it's warm. |

Elite 4108 Calgary,AB,Canada | Subject: RE: swbkrun's group- CLOSED I like that..."canadian cold." Actually we are having some unseasonably warm weather here which is nice. 10-14 C so 50-58 F. As a new runnner(really just started in Nov), I was chatting with my wife yesterday, as we were saying how nice it will be to run in the summer with shorts and t-shirts on. Although,I do enjoy the ipod, gloves, coat, pants, underwear, and toque(yes canadiana). I like the snow in the trees, etc, etc and I think we have alot of fair-weather runners in our community so most weekend mornings I go running and I am alone. Sometimes that is a nice feeling. |

Go celebrate. ^^^^^ So we finally saw sun yesterday and headed to Brennecke Beach (Steve, do you know it?). We hadn't been there 20 minutes when three lifeguards when bounding into the water on their surf boards to rescue a man. They pulled him out, started CPR and waited for the paremedics to arrive. The paramedics used the paddles, but sadly, he drowned. Really awful. His wife was there all alone as they put him into the ambulance. Today, guess what, it is raining again! Suzy

Seriously though, congrats!!!!! Suzy, not the kind of excitement you want on vacation. How awful! Perhaps you should go out again tonight and drink too much to take your mind off it!! Steve and Tracy - Shaving is a pain. But more so for some of us because we don't get to wear jammers to swim in. (I know exactly what you mean Tracy, not TMI!!) Off to do a little work now! Karen |

Based on my fall last year I think it might have been a bit easier if there wasn't anything to grab the concrete as I was sliding on it... |

No one is going to think anything about your getting in touch with your feminine side. Have you tried your wife's bikini bottoms on under your running tights? I read that somewhere on the forum. |

LOL, check out my album, there is a picture of my leg after I cleaned it up a bit. That is why I had planned on shaving them. I will look into the bikini bottoms if it gets me more speed on the bike though... |

Master 1952 Guelph, Ontario | Subject: RE: swbkrun's group- CLOSED It's been a little busy around with both myself and grandaughter being sick. I did get out to play hockey yesterday but then I was so tired I slep 2 1/2 hours in the afternoon and then from 8:00 pm until 6:30 this morning. Feeling much better now though. Trevor and Karen . Well done both of you. I have never shaved my legs but I did wax my back last summer. I got tired of wearing a sweater while running without a shirt. OK maybe its not that bad |

Champion 9060 Charlottesville, Virginia | Subject: RE: swbkrun's group- CLOSED So I got the last 2 parts that I needed to get my bike built enough for the fitting. Still haven't bought the wheelcover and a few other bling items but don't need those for the fitting. LOL, trying to remain calm and take my time putting everything together, my fitting isn't until March 1st so no rush but I am so much like a little kid, the minute I got my parts I wanted to rush in and put everything together. I did at least just bolt the FD on just to see what it looked like... Steve, I have what seems like in the grand process of putting the bike together a silly question. The bars I bought came pre-cabled which was nice but it didn't come with the bit of housing that goes from the Rear Derailleur to the frame. Do I just go buy some extra housing and 2 ferrules and then slide it on the end of the cable?

There are tons of resources online and the tools really aren't that specialized. |

Pro 4100 Wherever the trail takes me, WA. | Subject: RE: swbkrun's group- CLOSED So I had one of those really LONG response's to EVERYTHING over the last 2 days, and it didn't save.... ANNOYING! What is even more annoying is that I just came out of a meeting stating that we are moving 35 miles south of where we are currently located.... Sucks big time for me because I live pretty close to the office (9 miles), my wife's office is 3 miles from here (nice for lunch, carpool, etc), my gym is 2 miles from here (it is a top of line gym). It just all sucks..... So dissapointed, BUT I AM VERY HAPPY TO STILL HAVE A JOB, SO I AM GRATEFUL, just need to have a bitc* session!!!!
Tony, you will need to buy more cable, I suggest you buy extra..... IN CASE OF ERROR!! And just so you know... Once you shave for the summer, you won't stop! You won't like the stuble! |
