baaaaad chemists!!! bad bad Chemists.

Go after those bastages!!

Thats what I get to do with my ecological toxicology degree. That, and make the bastages clean the crap up.

So who on this team doesn't have a science background? (and the scientific drinking studies don't count )

I am an artist; sculpture and ceramics, not much classic science, but a lot of inherent chemistry in glaze formulation, firing techniques, stuff like that. I love science and have a soft spot for scientists, nerdy lab coats and pocket protectors can be a real turn-on Wink.

I was just looking at your work; I like it a lot! Have you ever tried to make working boats? They would be a great melding of form and function!

Lots of hills on narrow roads that will have traffic on them. I hate road riding. I'll do mountain biking anyday.
I live in western NC in the mountains.

In road biking I love speed, in mtb it scares me!

Have you considered an off-road triathlon? They usually consist of a swim (or kayak), mtb, trail run.

Funny how we are all different. I was deliberatly hit once by a car so that is the start of the fear, then there is the (until last year) 20 year avoidance of road bikes. Lack of riding on roads MAY be the issue, you think?

MDHillSlug - 2009-04-08 9:17 AM After diminishing returns on my last two runs I've decided that my body is trying to tell me I need a break, so I'm turning this week into a recovery week. Gonna cut back on the distance and the intensity, but not the frequency.

Swim today, run tomorrow.

Sounds smart.  Way to listen to your body!

blujay65 - 2009-04-08 9:52 AM Mornin' folks!

Had a great run this morning. I loved it, 35*F, sunny, just lovely. A big improvement from last night's funky run. I am also supposed to swim in about an hour, may take it easy as I still feel some strain from last night.

The rest of my week will be on the quite side, short runs, maybe a quickie bike ride, as I have a 10K in New Orleans on Saturday (my birthday).

Sounds like most everybody is already having a productive day as well!

You gotta love runs like that.

And what a great way to celebrate your birthday!

I don't have a science background.  I'm a librarian.

My mom's a librarian.  Do you take advantage of getting first dibs on books, sometimes ahead of their release date too?  She used to always bring them home early for me.  Man, I miss that.

Can't say I've done much mountain biking for comparison though.
