Hi Abbie!

I have seen that IMKY pic before....still hard to believe the difference in you.  Amazing.

I'm Judi.  52, married, one daughter in college, one a junior in high school, a foreign exchange student from Vietnam.  I have 3 cats (2 are running on their last lives with me!)

I have 3 weeks until my last race of the season, a half marathon.  I worked so hard last winter at losing about 12 lbs, unfortunately I have regained most of that.  Current weight is around 147.  I haven't been in the gym to weigh in for a while cause this half mary plan is so aggressive that I have dropped all but yoga and running from my agenda.  When this is over I am jumping into the winter bike plan.

Hi everyone (to some, hello again!).  I'm Tom, 30, married, 2 dogs, 4 turtles, 1 snake, 2 sirens (type of salamander), a few fish, a bunch of house plants and the occasional house fly or fruit flies.  We are also hosting a visiting student from Tanzania.

I took last year off from the grind of distance training and focused more on strength and muscle endurance training.  That, and I was trying to finish up some dissertation research (excuses excuses).  I am getting back on the r/b/s bandwagon and taking my dogs with me (well, for the running part).  I weighed myself in the middle of the day a couple days ago and weighed in at 208lbs (I would say that it is all the muscle that I have added on, but I think that we all know that isn't really the case).  Aside from adding on trail running mileage, I will be reducing beer and snack calories and tracking what I eat for the next month in BT.  Come January, I'll start adding on some swimming meterage (not mileage...).  I'll acquaint myself with the spreadsheet (I admit that I haven't read all of the 40-odd pages of this thread).

Cheers. -t

Thanks for the welcome.  I adjusted the worksheet a little to show goal progression.  If you put in your goal weight and update your most recent weight (I just updated all of them) then it should give you a percent of progression towards your weight loss goal.  I also froze the top row so that you can scroll down and still see the header row.

Cheers. -t

Well last week sucked. Ended up working over 70 hrs and toss in a little holiday and a cold, what a waste. Eating got progressively worse and the workouts were being missed one after another. Putting it in the past and moving on.  New week here we go, lots of work to do now!

Feeling that also, looking at our calendar with all our social events and family commitments coming up is ridiculous. Gonna need some serious will power over the next 5 weeks.

Couldn't agree with you more.  After this weekend, reality sunk in... I now remember why I have such a tough time with the season.  Hang in there everyone.  One day at a time.

Back from Socal.  Wow, not so great on the eating.  My brother's house has way too many temptations. At home, I have control as to what food doesn't enter my house, but at my brother's I'm surrounded by too many things I don't eat and have no control.  Horrible eating and hormones.....I'm not going near my scale, ugg.  Back on track today.

Try selecting a cell and then using your up and down buttons to move through the worksheet.

Did you try using a different browser? My weight hasn't changed much either. But not for lack of trying. I only cheated a bit on Thanksgiving/Friday but otherwise I've faithfully logged my calories and feel like I don't really want to eat any less or make drastic changes. I've committed to logging my food for a year and eat as clean as possible. I'm worrying less about what the scale says since it's only 10 pounds that I am playing with. I think one has to be comfortable with lifestyle changes for them to stick.

Hey all - well with the exception of my boozy weekend and some bites here and there I've been doing the paleo thing for a full week.  It's definitely clean eating!!  I've discovered coconut oil which is REALLY nice and I've tried some yummy recipes.  My family isn't happy though so I cook the other stuff for them as well.  So paleo for me with a side of rice for them.  Funny that I started this though for hubby!!!  Anyway - I feel leaner though I'm just maintaining.  I wouldn't say I've noticed anything huge from it.  Just that my body doesn't hang on to "stuff" (no bloating etc) which lends to the 'feeling leaner' comment. I'm going to keep it up for the full 30 days I think and see how I feel then but what I've come to realize is that it's still calories in - calories out.  I've been only putting the good stuff in my mouth but it still adds up to my maintenance calories and that's why I haven't really lost.

For those of you considering it - the trick is prep!!  When you feel hungry and don't have the snacks you've packed in front of you - you look around the various restaurants and shops and realize there is NOTHING natural to buy.  Crazy!

Anyway - cardio is on hold this week as I get my body used to weights again. Did a lower body routine Monday and am walking funny today but I'll do another one on my lunch and hopefully they'll just hurt mildly after this... hopefully!!

I'm excited:  for the first time since about May (which is about a month after my weight started ballooning), I'm back in the 140's.  Yes - just barely - but still.  Feels good.  I expect that the 150's still might make another appearance, but this has really been good incentive to keep up with the healthy eating.
